Ning Fei is good at diving in and out and summoning clones to disrupt enemies. Because of this, he will want to use a build that increases his survivability and damage output whenever he uses one of his movement abilities or summons a clone.

In PvE game modes, Ning Fei specializes in quickly moving from area to area to clear out waves of enemies. However, he isn't as good at defeating bosses compared to some other characters, so you'll also want to increase his Crossbow damage as well.

Ning Fei will almost always want to use Mahamayuri because it's a very powerful crossbow that has flexible firing modes that can adapt to any combat situation. This means that he has to use a Mythic in the Primary slot, and Wolfpack is chosen because of its speed bonus.

Similar to PvP, Mahamayuri is used because of the flexibility and overall power level of the Crossbow, and Wolfpack is still used because of its movespeed buff. Although, it can be swapped for a DEL5 Kulfi if you're against Fallen and/or Cabal, and if the passive is activated.

Ning Fei's PvP build is somewhat flexible, as long as he's using Artifacts that can heal or give him damage resistance, as well as increase the damage output of his Crossbow. Just make sure to save your abilities for repositioning, since that is his main form of survivability.

Thanks to his clones and movement abilities, Ning Fei has a relatively easy time staying alive in combat. To supplement this, you'll want a build that revolves around his ability usage since you'll be spamming them often.

However, as a note, Ning Fei's abilities aren't suited for taking down bosses, so you can also use Artifacts that increase his weapon damage as well, especially if you're the sole or main DPS on your team.
