Can You Craft Mods?

No, You Cannot Craft Mods

Upgrading Mods

Weapons mods in the game cannot be crafted, as they are acquired from mod bundles and as rewards from Strike and Gauntlet: Blitz runs.

They can be upgraded with Mod Fragments, which will improve the stat boosts you can get from equipping mods.

Attachments For Weapons

Mod Attachments

Weapon mods are special attachments that you can equip on Rare, Legendary, and Mythic weapons. They come in scope, magazine, and ammo mods which provide small stat boosts relevant to where the mod is equipped.

Each mod also upgrades your weapon's perks and traits which can give you even more stat boosts!

Do note that Exotic weapons do not have mods but instead have Catalysts in place of weapon attachments.

Mod Random Attributes

Mods also have random attributes that provide small stat modifiers when you equip them. Rarer mods have better attributes that you can get.

Permanently Attached to Weapon

Any mod that you equip on a weapon cannot be removed, and all duplicate weapons that you own, as long as they have the same name, will have the mod equipped.

You can still equip more than one mod per slot if you want to change your setup, as you can swap between them later on.

Unlocked Upon Reaching Chapter 5-1

Mods Chapter 5-1

Weapon mods are unlocked after reaching Chapter 5-1 of the campaign. If you feel underpowered early in the game, you will have more chances to boost your power once you unlock mods.
