How to Get Exotic Weapons

Exotic Weapon Engrams

Exotic Engram

Exotic Weapons are mainly obtained from Exotic Engrams, which are rewarded by clearing Destiny: Rising's harder end-game content.

Since Exotic Weapons are much stronger compared to other weapons, they are rarer, and harder to farm, being one of the core aspects of Destiny: Rising's end game loop.

Battle Pass Reward

Exotic Weapon BP Reward

An easy way to obtain Exotic Weapons easily is by completing the Battle Pass. Exotic Weapons are available in both Paid and Free variants of the Battle Pass, allowing players to claim it as a reward upon reaching a certain Battle Pass level.

Exotic Weapons available in Battle Passes will likely change every season, making it a good way to increase your character's power.

As of the Release Patch of Destiny: Rising, new players can receive a Choice Exotic Engram just by logging in to the game.

This allows players to immediately obtain a powerful weapon, preferably one that is suited to a character you already own.

6 Star Rarity Weapons

Exotic Weapons are 6-Star Rarity Weapons, the highest rarity available for Weapons.

Exotic Weapons are the strongest weapons in the game, offering the highest base power, along with powerful Traits and Perks.

Upgraded Through Catalysts

Unlike other Weapons, Exotic Weapons have fixed Traits and Perks, and cannot be fitted with Weapon Mods.

Exotic Weapons are further upgraded by unlocking Catalysts, which are obtained through obtaining copies of the same Exotic Weapon.
