Wolf Required for the Quest
For the duration of Ice Field Phantoms, you must play as Wolf. You cannot switch characters throughout this quest.
If you need to be another character for another activity while you're in the middle of this quest, you are free to leave at any point. Once you're ready to come back to the quest, you can return through the quest menu.

How to Unlock Ice Field Phantoms
Complete The Choice of Ikora Rey
After completing The Choice of Ikora Rey in Chapter 1-2, you will receive a message from Gwynn. Open her message, and Ice Field Phantoms will be added to your quest menu.
Gwynn Not Required
Although this is Gwynn's character quest, you do not need to own Gwynn in order to complete it.

Ice Field Phantoms Walkthrough
Investigate the Ice Field
| 1 |  Talk to Denzin at the Station in Jiangshi Metro. This will enable Story Mode, preventing you from switching characters or using your Sparrow. |

| 2 |  Go to the Ice Field of Jiangshi Metro. The easiest way is to fast travel there. |
| 3 |  Approach the corpses in the burning area nearby. |
| 4 |  After Zev and Wolf's conversation, head towards the building in the southwest with a large metal panel on it. A glowing ball of light should be right outside. Have Zev analyze it before entering the building. |
| 5 |  Defeat the Hive enemies in this area. |
| 6 |  After talking to Gwynn, follow her to the ice cavern. When you're ready to enter, talk to her. |
| 7 |  Venture deep within the ice cavern until you reach Gwynn. You can avoid or defeat the enemies along the way. |
| 8 | Once you reach the end of the cavern, defeat all enemies here. This will end the quest and unlock the second part of Gwynn's questline. ▶︎ Gwynn Quest Guide |
