This is a Black Beacon Tier List for Version 1.0 as of May 2025. Here, we rate the best 5-star and 4-star characters, the best characters for general use, the best characters to reroll for, and the best characters to use in endgame content.

Qing
(New Character!) |
![]() |
| Tier Placement Reasoning | |
| • Acts similarly to Florence when it comes to being a DPS, with the only differences being her element (Water) and the length of her skill rotation. • Recommended to get for players who missed Florence's banner or want a Water DPS, though her skills require more player skill in terms of targeting (Qing's skills need to hit enemies before she gets their upgraded versions in battle). |
|
| Date | Changes |
|---|---|
| 05/13/2025 | - Added Qing to tier list, initially assessed as S due to similarities to Florence when it comes to being a DPS. - Moved Asti to A+ due to her role as a support unit for Qing. |
| 04/14/2025 | - Moved Viola from A to A+ due to her off-field damage dealing ability. - Li Chi moved from A to S due to widespread usage and high damage for a standard 5-star character. - Wushi moved from C to A due to his skillset being more useful than first surmised. - Shamash moved from B to A due to his attacks dealing increased damage. - Nanna moved from B to A due to her utility compared to other characters in original tier. - Logos moved from A to B+ due to the conditions needed to pull off her passive - Ninsar moved from S to A+ due to Zero's placement. - Ereshan moved from B+ to B because of the relative weakness of her attacks without investment. |
| 04/10/2025 | - Black Beacon Tier List created. |
This tier list is updated up to May 13, 2025. The positioning of characters within their own tiers is in no particular order whatsoever. Some characters were ranked before bugs surrounding their skills were discovered.
![]() |
These characters stand at the top of the meta. They deal the highest damage and/or offer exceptional utility, all while being easy to use. Although they may require significant investment (copies, Ancient Marks, materials), the payoff is well worth it. Building teams around these units is highly recommended. |
|---|---|
![]() |
Strong and reliable, A tier characters are only slightly behind Tier 0 units in terms of performance. They offer good damage and utility, though they may be slightly harder to use or pale in comparison to Tier 0 units. Still, they are excellent picks and valuable team members. |
![]() |
B tier units have more situational value. While they can be effective in specific roles or team setups, their overall utility or damage may not justify the investment or effort required to maximize their performance. Use them when they fit a particular need. |
![]() |
These characters have limited viability and are best used only if you lack better options. Unless they serve a specific niche in your team, it's recommended to replace them with higher-tier units as soon as possible. |
Characters with shorter, simpler skill rotations are ranked higher because longer rotations can be easy to fumble in the heat of battle (and give your enemies more chances to hit your character). However, if the effort required to pull off a long skill rotation is commensurate to the damage it deals/the utility it provides, then that is taken into consideration as well.
Characters that can be slotted into the most number of teams possible (or are useful enough to have teams crafted around them) are ranked higher on the list compared to those with more niche team requirements (they work well with certain characters only, their team members need to be the same element as they are, etc).

Zero
|
• One of the best support units in the game as of this writing. Zero boosts her allies' Attack by up to 50% for roughly 20 second, maximizing the damage they deal in exchange for doing an easy to learn skill rotation. The nature of her buff makes her suitable for almost any team setup, and she requires little actual investment as the game gives out copies of her for free based on the player's story progress, ensuring that all her Potentials will be unlocked eventually. |
Florence
|
• One of the best DPS units in the game as of writing, Florence deals large amounts of damage to both mobs and bosses with her area-of-effect attacks. These attacks are easy to master in a skill rotation that makes her perfect as a burst-type DPS that only needs to expend her skills, before switching out to another character while those skills cool down. Though she is strong with just one copy, it is highly recommended to get her to at least Potential Level 4 to maximize her offensive abilities (and get boosts for both her critical hit chance and critical damage stats). |
Li Chi
|
• A powerful DPS that can deal heavy damage to both single targets and mobs of enemies, Li Chi is potentially one of the most powerful standard 5-star characters. However, his skills require him to sacrifice his HP, so he needs to be paired with a healer like Logos or Asti in order to stay alive in battle. Though he can be easy for bosses to kill, and his skillset takes some effort to master, the investment can still be worth it due to his abilities. |
Qing
|
• Acts similarly to Florence when it comes to being a DPS, with the only differences being her element (Water) and the length of her skill rotation. • Recommended to get for players who missed Florence's banner or want a Water DPS, though her skills require more player skill in terms of targeting (Qing's skills need to hit enemies before she gets their upgraded versions in battle). |

Hephae
|
• Another strong support character for various DPS units (especially Florence), Hephae's ability to decrease the damage taken by her allies (and boost their attack) make her a great option for various teams revolving around burst DPS or more general DPS units. |
Viola
|
• A powerful secondary DPS that can quickly set up a field that deals damage to enemies within a wide area. Great to have as a support unit that can give a second (or third) elemental anomaly to your party, dealing more damage. |
Ninsar
|
• A primarily support-focused unit that provides shields for her allies in the early game. But eventually, she grows into a hybridized support/secondary DPS when fully upgraded, allowing her to do away with mobs and even bosses with her ultimate skill. |
Azi
|
• A great debuffer whose skills can be pulled off easy before switching to another character. Once she manages to fill her enemies' "Firepower" meters, she reduces their Damage Resistance for 20 seconds, making them take more damage from your main carry. |
Asti
|
• One of the first units you get in the game with a healing mechanic that makes her viable in many teams. Asti can quickly summon umbrellas that set up healing pools around the battlefield, which can keep your team's main carry and other characters alive (similar to Logos, but without the passive factor of her healing). |
| Character | Tier Placement Reasoning |
|---|---|
Shamash
|
• One of the first characters players get in the game and acts as a DPS/tank hybrid (though the DPS aspect only comes out when his Rage meter is full). He's also the only character in the game so far that has a block mechanic, with successful blocks resulting in him countering enemies. Simple to use, powerful, but eventually overshadowed by higher-rarity characters in terms of damage. |
Wushi
|
• Compared to other 4-star DPSs, Wushi's skill rotation takes too much effort to learn when others (Shamash, Xin) have simpler rotations but can get the job done as well as he can. |
Ming
|
• Good Fire elemental support, though flexible enough for many teams, Ming's main purpose is to set up the next character after her with a cloak of Fire that deals more damage to enemies on top of the elemental damage she would've already dealt to them. |
Nanna
|
• A Dark element character that could work well as a secondary DPS with a Dark DPS character like Ereshan, but not a main DPS on her own. Nanna is has an item pickup mechanic which can take effort to master as anyone who plays her will need to pull it off to activate her passive skill, which summons a spinning blade around her (and the next character she switches to) that deals damage to surrounding enemies. |
| Character | Tier Placement Reasoning |
|---|---|
Logos
|
• Logos can be good in both secondary DPS and healer roles due to the Notes she summons on the battlefield. Her Notes only not deal additional damage on their own, but also generate passive healing for the entire party. Great for teams with DPSs that can be damaged by enemies easily such as Florence or Li Chi. • Hampered by her need for investment to get her most useful abilities (such as the revival of one fallen ally in battle), but good to have if getting extra copies is not an issue. |
| Character | Tier Placement Reasoning |
|---|---|
Ereshan
|
• Though her damage can be low compared to other DPSs, Ereshan is still a good unit in her own right with the ability to teleport, do rapid scythe strikes, and deal even more damage through her elemental anomaly, Dark Corrosion. However, she will require a lot of investment (3 to 5 copies and at least Breakthrough Level 4) so players can take full advantage of her skillset. |
| Character | Tier Placement Reasoning |
|---|---|
Enki
|
• Enki could have been a good support if not because of how it can be difficult to pull off his support abilities. He needs to lay down and energy ball, lob it toward his enemies, then hit it again when it bounces back. But in the heat of battle, it can get hard to hit the ball on top of taking too much time (a faster support could pull off their own rotation within the time spent waiting for the ball to bounce back). |
Xin
|
• Xin is a reliable Thunder DPS with a simple-to-learn skillset. However, she does not offer any other utility to the team and, being a 4-star character, she will be overshadowed by higher-rarity characters when it comes to damage. |
