Stats in Black Beacon determine how well your character performs in combat. Read our guide to learn the different stats in-game, what the important stats are, and how to raise your own character's stats.
List of Contents

Stats determine how your character will perform in combat. Like in most RPGs, each stat has a different effect, such as Attack (boosts your character's damage) and Defense (decreases the amount of damage your character takes).

To find a character's stats, go to the Character menu from the Home Screen, select your character, and tap Develop. Once there, you can view your character's stats on the right side of the screen.

There is also a View Details button you can tap to check all the character's stats in detail.
| Stat | Meaning |
|---|---|
| HP | Your character's total Hit Points. If this reaches zero during battle, they are defeated. |
| Max Vigor | How much Vigor your character can store. Vigor is energy used to cast Skills. |
| On-field Vigor Recovery | Determines how fast the character recovers Vigor when they are on the field. |
| Attack | The higher this stat is, the more damage the character deals to enemies during battle. |
| Pierce | The ratio of how much the character's attacks ignore the enemy's defense whenever they deal damage. |
| Defense | Decreases the damage this character takes from enemy attacks. |
| Elemental Anomaly Mastery | This stat affects the power of Elemental Anomaly effects such as [Stasis], [Burning], [Electrocuted], [Glaring], [Erosion], and [Overload]. The stat of the member with the highest Elemental Anomaly Mastery on your team affects the Elemental Anomaly damage of all other characters in the team. |
| Critical Hit Rate | Determines the character's chance to deal a critical hit. |
| Critical Damage | Determines how much additional damage a character deals when making a critical hit. |
| Charge Boost | Determines how fast the character accumulates Vigor for his/her ultimate skill. |
| Off-field Vigor Recovery | Determines how fast the character recovers Vigor when they are in the background. |

Elemental stats such as Water Damage Boost, Fire Damage Boost, Thunder Damage Boost, Light Damage Boost, and Darkness Damage Boost determine how much [EXPLANATION TO COME LATER]
| Amount Reduced from 800 DEF | Amount Reduced From 200 DEF | |
|---|---|---|
| 7.5% Pierce | 60 DEF | 15 DEF |
| 40% Pierce | 60 DEF | 15 DEF |
The Pierce stat is one of the more important stats in the game, as it allows your character's attacks to ignore part of their enemy's DEF and deal more damage.
For example, a character with 7.5% Pierce is able to ignore 60 points of an enemy's 800 DEF stat, which increases the character's overall damage. If the enemy has a lower DEF stat (like 200), the Pierce stat's overall defense reduction is decreased (since it's tied to percentages rather than flat numbers). So in this case, the character's attack will ignore only 15 points of DEF.
But if you equip a character with Ancient Marks that raise their Pierce stat, their attacks can ignore even more of the enemy's DEF. For example, if a character has 40% Pierce, they would ignore 320 points of an enemy's 800 DEF stat, and 80 points of an enemy's 200 DEF stat. This would lead to even more damage overall, making Pierce one of the more important stats in the game.

The weapons equipped by your characters boost their Attack and Defense stats, as well as give them access to special effects called Sync Skills. These Sync Skills oftenn enhance one or more of the character's battle skills by giving it additional effects like increased damage, or making a lightning bolt hit the enemy targeted by the skill.
If you want to make your character deal more damage, take less damage, and have an additional skill effect, make sure to get good weapons for them via the game's retrieval banners.

Another way to increase your character's stats is to raise their character level and breakthrough level. The higher their character level, the higher their ATK, HP, and DEF stats will be. The higher their breakthrough level, the higher their level caps will be.
To raise a character's level, you will need various leveling materials. However, with materials being scarce in Black Beacon, you must prioritize which of your characters would get the most resources.

To raise the rest of your character's stats such as Elemental Stats, you will need to boost their power with Ancient Marks. Ancient Marks are equippable items that you will need to fit onto a character's grid. The more Ancient Marks you fit, the more stat boosts and effects your character gets. This is also the only way at present to boost a character's Pierce stat.
You will have to raise a character's Breakthrough Level to 2 before you can put Ancient Marks on them. To get Ancient Marks, you will have to
