Unlocking game modes and features quickly in Black Beacon is key to acquiring new characters, weapons, and upgrade materials efficiently. This guide outlines how to unlock each mode and feature to maximize your progress.
List of Contents

Unlocking all game modes and features helps you access important aspects of the game such as merging materials and pulling characters. If you unlock them as early as you can, you will be able to get new characters, weapons, and upgrade materials faster.
We recommend playing the game's Main Story up to Chapter 3-18 and reaching at least Seer Level 20 as soon as possible to unlock a majority of the game's important game modes and features.

Unlocking the Main Story missions is simple. If you are just starting Black Beacon, you will most likely play through this mode first. Going as far as you can through the Main Story is important, as most of Black Beacon's other game modes are tied to finishing certain Main Story chapters.
Progressing through the Main Story missions is important as most game modes and features are tied to its progression.

Side Story missions are tied to your Main Story progression. The first Side Story mission will be unlocked after completing Chapter 1-17.
Missions here offer a one-time reward, such as Vision, Rune Shards, and Character and Weapon EXP materials. Moreover, these missions expand on the stories of other characters in the game, like Nanna and Xin.

Resource missions are a sustainable way to farm upgrades and breakthrough materials. The first Resource missions under the Stats category can be unlocked after Chapter 1-4 and are a primary source for farming character and weapon leveling materials, as well as Orelium.
However, you must progress through the first chapter further to unlock Resource missions for Breakthrough Level materials and Skill Upgrade Materials.

The Explore mode offers the most challenging missions in the game such as the Tome of Fate and Infinite Multiverse.
The former rewards Seal of Fate, used for purchasing rare Ancient Marks, while the latter offers Scar of Infinity, which is used for redeeming very rare weapons and farming Rune Shards. They are both unlocked after progressing far into the story.
| Game Modes | Conditions |
|---|---|
| Tome of Fate (Ancient Marks) |
Complete Chapter 3-18 |
| Infinite Multiverse | Complete Chapter 4-19 |

Unlocking features such as Events, Store, and Battle Pass also rely on completing specific chapters from the Main Story. Meanwhile, unlocking Merging, or the crafting of upgrade materials, needs players to be at a specific Seer Level instead.
Unlocking all of them offers some of the best ways to farm Clarity, common upgrade materials, and other useful items.
