The Game8 Black Beacon Team has ended coverage as of May 21, 2025. Information on certain pages may not be up-to-date. Thank you for your continued support!

Black Beacon's characters belong to different classes and have elemental alignments. This guide will explain what classes and elements are and how they impact your playthrough.
List of Contents

Classes refer to the role your character takes during combat. There are three character classes in this game: Destruction, Breaker, and Assist.

A Destruction character prioritizes dealing high damage over time. Essentially, these units focus on dealing damage to enemies using their skills and ultimates.

Characters in the Breaker class provide support by assisting teammates with their attacks. Though their attacks do not deal as much damage as Destruction characters, they can help eliminate weaker enemies and even modify the battlefield with traps.

Meanwhile, Assist characters focus mainly on providing buffs, such as increased attack or shields, and healing. They are useful for helping your team survive longer and take on more difficult missions.

A character's Element indicates the type of elemental damage and elemental anomaly they will inflict on enemies during battle. There are currently five elements in-game, each with their own elemental effect.
| Elements | Elemental Anomaly | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Light | Glare | When the enemy's Anomaly meter gets full, Glaring is inflicted which deals a small amount of Light damage to the enemy. When Glaring ends, it inflicts a larger fixed amount of Light damage to the enemy. |
| Water | Stasis | Briefly freezes enemy movement. |
| Fire | Burn | Inflicts fixed damage over time based on a percentage of the character's HP. |
| Thunder | Electrocuted | The enemy receives additional thunder strikes when hit. |
| Dark | Corrosion | The enemy takes damage after its duration based on the damage received while in the Corrosion state. This will trigger immediately if the enemy's HP is lower than the damage. |
List of All Elemental Anomalies

Classes provide a general sense of each character’s primary role in combat. For example, Florence can excel in DPS, Logos can act as a Breaker, and Zero can serve as an Assist. Then, you can form a team accordingly.
However, these roles are only guidelines, not absolute rules. It’s best for players to play a character themselves, and then experiment with various teams and skill rotations. Through this, players might discover powerful team synergies and other hidden uses that go beyond the game's initial recommendations.

Aside from character classes, you can also set up your team according to their Elemental alignment to take advantage of an enemy's Elemental weakness. This is particularly important for bosses with a high health pool. Having the correct element in your team allows you to maximize your damage output against powerful enemies.
You can even inflict a high burst of damage by using characters with different elemental alignments through Elemental Overload.
Elemental Overload is inflicted when a player manages to inflict two elemental anomalies on an enemy in quick succession. For instance, Florence's and Viola's skills can simultaneously inflict the Burning and Electrocuted states.
Once Elemental Overload is triggered, it not only inflicts explosive damage to the affected enemy. It also significantly reduces the enemy's Tenacity. Take away enough of the enemy's Tenacity, and they will be temporarily stunned.
