Elemental Anomalies in Black Beacon inflict various effects that damage enemies in battle. Learn what Elemental Anomalies are currently in the game, what kind of damage they deal, and what Elements are in the game in the first place.

"Elemental Anomalies" are what this game calls Status Effects. When your character fills their enemy's Anomaly meter by continuously hitting them with elemental skills, the Elemental Anomaly kicks in and inflicts an extra debuff on the enemy. Be careful, however, as the enemy can do the same to your characters.
Certain Elemental Anomalies are also stackable, allowing your characters to deal extra damage.
| Negative Status | Effect |
|---|---|
| Stasis | Briefly freezes the enemy, rendering them immobile and vulnerable to attacks. |
| Burning | Periodically deals Fire damage to the enemy based on a percentage of the character's HP. This Anomaly can stack to increase damage, though the total damage is also influenced by the enemy's DEF, weaknesses, and resistances. |
| Electrocuted | Strikes the enemy with Thunder damage whenever the character lands an attack. This Anomaly can stack to increase damage, though the total damage is also affected by the enemy's DEF, weaknesses, and resistances. |
| Glare | When the enemy's Anomaly meter gets full, Glaring is inflicted which deals a small amount of Light damage to the enemy. When Glaring ends, it inflicts a larger fixed amount of Light damage to the enemy. |
| Dark Corrosion | When the enemy's Anomaly meter is full, Dark Corrosion activates, surrounding the enemy in a dark violet aura. Once Dark Corrosion ends, it deals cumulative damage based on the total damage the enemy took while the anomaly was active. If the enemy's remaining HP is lower than the pending Dark Corrosion damage, the effect triggers immediately. |
| Overload | Inflicting two separate Elemental Anomalies on an enemy triggers the Overload Anomaly, causing an explosive reaction that deals additional damage to the affected enemy and reducing their Tenacity. |

Black Beacon has five elements which determines what enemies they will deal more damage to, and what enemies will be more resistant to their attacks. Note, however, that certain characters deal non-elemental damage with their basic attacks that is neither strong or weak against any element.
Elements also determine what kind of Elemental Anomalies your characters will inflict on a target, and how much damage those Anomalies will deal.
For example, if you have low-investment versions of Logos and Ereshan, Logos might end up dealing more damage than Ereshan because the Light element's Glaring anomaly has higher fixed damage.
Meanwhile, Ereshan's Dark Corrosion requires her to deal as much damage as she can before it ends to deal cumulative damage. Since she's still at low investment, this damage might not amount to much at all. It could become a different story later on, however, when Ereshan's potential has been raised and she gets better weapons.

All enemies in Black Beacon have one or two Elemental Weaknesses, which means they will receive more damage from characters of those elements. For example, the first boss in the game Unknown Tyrant, is weak to Light damage, which means it will take more damage from Light characters such as Zero and Shamash.

There are currently two ways to boost a character's Elemental Damage: Giving them better weapons (or raising their current weapon's Sync Level), or giving them Ancient Marks that boost certain Elemental damage.
Certain weapons like Xin's 3-Star weapon Defend boost elemental damage (in this case, Thunder) by a certain percentage. Meanwhile, Ancient Marks like Thread Marks also boost Elemental damage depending on what variation of the mark you have.
