How to Level Up Weapons

Aside from leveling up your team members, another way to increase your characters' combat potential is by enhancing their weapons. The process of increasing a weapon's level is similar to that of a character's, where you can use upgrade materials or weapon duplicates. By enhancing their weapons, your characters can perform better in battles, allowing you to complete missions much faster.

Weapon Level

To level up your weapons, you need upgrade materials such as Fire of Hephae and Orelium. These items are primarily acquired by completing missions from the Story and other game modes, as well as unlocking in-game rewards. Doing so increases a weapon's Attack and Defense stats. Here are the steps to upgrade your weapon's level:

1	Select Character from the home screen menu, which can be found in the bottom-right part of the home screen.
2	From here, select a character and choose Develop.
3	Here, select Weapons and press Enhance to level up your weapons.

Breakthrough Levels

A weapon's level cap can also be increased by unlocking Breakthroughs. Casting-type items and Orelium are needed to increase a weapon's max level. You can increase Breakthrough levels up to three times, until your character reaches the current maximum level cap of 70.

To do this, max out a weapon's current level to 20. After that, the "Upgrade" option will change to "Breakthrough," allowing you to increase the weapon's stats and its level cap. Make sure to acquire the necessary items first to successfully level up your character's weapon "Breakthrough" level.

For example, Viola's Breakthrough level 2 can be unlocked with 4 Casting - Gravel and 6,000 Orelium, increasing her max level to 60. Keep in mind that each unlock increases the rarity and amount of materials and currency required.

Sync Level

Meanwhile, leveling up Synchronization increases your weapon's elemental damage or other character stats. You can upgrade your Sync Skill up to two times, which increases a particular stats. You will need two additional copies of a weapon to completely max out its Sync Level.

If you need more weapon upgrade materials, you can complete Resource missions and obtain them as rewards. Press "Start Battle" at the bottom right of the home screen, then select "Resources." From here, you can complete either "Stats" or "Breakthrough" missions, depending on your needs.

In the Stats section, choose "Forge of Vulcan" for weapon EXP materials. There are four missions to choose from, but they need to be unlocked according to your Seer's level.

Meanwhile, in the Breakthrough section, "Veins of Vastness" offers materials for unlocking weapon "Breakthrough" levels. There are also four missions to complete here. Missions from both the Stats and Breakthrough sections vary in difficulty, offering rarer materials for more challenging missions.

If you are just starting out in Black Beacon with a friend, you can accumulate "Mutual Aid Points" by sending gifts, assisting in battles, and completing quests from the Babel Tower's "Field Station" to obtain starting materials for weapon leveling. You can buy 50 Fire of Hephae - Small from this store, which resets weekly.

Clear Missions and Complete Side Quests

EX Missions

Some story missions and game modes, as well as side quests, also offer weapon upgrade materials as rewards. For story missions, you can only acquire their rewards after completing them for the first time. Meanwhile, other game modes, like the Head Librarian's Authority missions, also offer a one-time weapon EXP reward for completing particular challenges. The 7-Day Quest event also offers the same reward after completing a side quest.

Your characters can also equip different weapons, with rarer ones having higher stats. They can be obtained through event rewards, such as the Memory of Babel Tower event, and via Retrieval where you unlock characters and their weapons through the game's gacha banners.

Leveling up a weapon further increases your character's Attack and Defense stats, allowing them to dish out more damage and enhance their survivability during battles.

For example, Ninsar's base Attack and Defense stats at character level 1 are 151 and 86, respectively. However, maxing her base weapon level to 20 increases her Attack and Defense stats to 288 and 110. That said, increasing a weapon's level helps your character perform better in battle, which is vital for missions with higher difficulty.
