| Viola Review |
|---|
| Viola is a Breaker character who usually serves as an effective First Strike character. Her skills provide additional area-of-effect damage which can help fend off enemies even while she's not the active player on the battlefield. Likewise, while her Passive Skill is in effect, the team's main DPS can capitlize on the sustained damage to eliminate enemies quicker. |

| Faction | Eme-an |
| Birthday | October 8, Year 32 |
| Background | |
| A member of Eme-an, she is a gifted musician from the Cyril musical family. She carries a sealed viola, whose melodies inexplicably bring misfortune. Usually elegant and intellectual, she is sometimes overcome by sadness and melancholy due to her inability to play. | |
| First Story |
|---|
| Viola was born into a musical family in Cyril. Growing up in a rich musical environment, she displayed astonishing musical talent from a young age and was hailed as a prodigious musician, becoming a renowned viola player in Cyril at a young age. Cyril's music is mostly grand, majestic, and ensemble-based, but Viola is somewhat of an outlier. From the time of her official debut, she has always insisted on solo performances with few instances of accompaniment."Performance is for self-expression", Viola once said when asked why she always performs solo. While people were mesmerized by her answer, they couldn't understand that her "expression" went far deeper than they could imagine. Her performance skills are extraordinary, and it is rumored that she can convey everything she sees, thinks, and hears through her performance, completely to every listener. However, rumors are just rumors. When this genius first emerged, she quickly retreated. People can only harbor infinite fantasies about the legend of the genius musician. |
| Second Story |
|---|
| From the moment Viola's special performance begins, it does not stop midway. She never pauses between pieces, does not stop to bow during intermission, nor does she stop to look at the score. She simply closes her eyes and plays until the performance ends. There have been frequent ominous rumors about Viola's solo concerts—whether it was the audience present or her accompanying partners, they all experienced varying degrees of mental disorder—hallucinations, sensory disruptions, and abnormal behaviors. A series of bizarre medical reports caused the outside world to become increasingly doubtful. Some defended Viola, saying that genius musicians are often subjected to unjust criticism, but no matter how many negative reports surfaced about her solo concerts—none of which have yet been proven to have a causal relationship—when Viola held another solo concert, the audience seats were always full. Viola stood alone on the stage, and the deep and melodious sound of the viola soon echoed in the darkness. She only opened her eyes when the performance ended. The audience, once dressed in suits and elegant gowns, had long disappeared, leaving only a few people in black and gold uniforms who gave her warm applause. |
| Third Story |
|---|
| A businessman once wanted to record Viola's performance and release it as a record, but Viola politely declined. Not giving up, the businessman hid behind the stage during Viola's performance to make a secret recording. Although the recording was successful, due to some uncontrollable factors, the businessman eventually did not manage to take the record with him. After the concert ended, a staff member, considering it an ownerless item, took it to the second-hand market for random disposal. The record passed through many hands, each owner leaving some marks on it. It was said that these marks were the result of unspeakable horrors they encountered after listening to the record. These eerie rumors shrouded the increasingly "weathered" record in a layer of mystery, and its value soared in the underground market—leading many to believe that the rumors about the record might just be a marketing tactic. Regardless of the truth, this record with terrifying rumors eventually landed in the hands of the Florentine Family at an auction. The Duke of Florentine, after listening to the record, immediately sent it to the Delphi Society for research. The society only identified the material of the record but found nothing else, so they sent it to Eme-an for further investigation. The stylus moved in silence for 4 minutes and 33 seconds before the first sound—undoubtedly from a viola—was heard. Viola, who was present at the scene, recognized the recorded content and immediately scratched out the rest of the grooves beyond recognition. This record became Viola's strong evidence that "the viola is dangerous and must be sealed"—at least she firmly believed this. Understanding the situation afterward, the Duke of Florentine generously gave the record to Viola, stating it needed not to be returned. |
| Fourth Story |
|---|
| A unique viola solo performance emerged in the Cyril music scene, which is typically known for its ensemble performances. Initially a niche concert, it coincidentally attracted many influential figures from the contemporary art world. The violist on stage was initially unknown, but the moment she drew her bow across the strings, everyone remembered her name—Viola. This was Viola's debut performance. Her exquisite skills were evident during the first half of the set pieces, showcasing her effortless mastery. However, for a genius, this was merely the beginning. It wasn't until the latter half of the performance that an unfamiliar but enchanting melody flowed from her hands, captivating the ears and hearts of all present. In an interview after the performance, when asked why she chose to perform solo, Viola mentioned that she initially joined an orchestra, but an accident during rehearsal led to its early dissolution. This brief and dismal experience did not dampen her passion for music but helped her realize that she was not suited for orchestral playing. She decided to make her mark in the music world as a soloist, and it proved to be the right decision. And now we are fortunate to witness the birth of a genius. Apart from helping her recognize her path, the former orchestra left Viola with a group photo as a memento. The figures in the photo are blurry, but you can just make out the young Viola's innocent face in the center of the front row. Reflecting on this period, Viola gave a novel and humorous response: "The wind instrument players mostly thought about what to have for dinner. The percussionists were always tense, counting the beats. The string players had varied thoughts; some complained about being busy, some wanted to be in the spotlight, and some were very focused on me. Although it was a bit noisy, when it was my turn to play, they all cooperated very well." In the end, Viola's expression shifted from confusion to a smile. After the interview, we attempted to contact the former orchestra members, but unfortunately, we found that after the orchestra disbanded, none of the members, except for Viola, had any activity in the current Cyril music scene. |

Viola's main asset in the team is her easy rotation while being able to dish out great damage while she's off the field with her Tonal Ranges. Like most DPS units, focus on increasing her Critical Hit Rate and Critical Damage first. Then, look towards maximizing ATK or Pierce as either will benefit her overall damage greatly.
Sage's Heart is the perfect 10-piece mark for her as it essentially gives you a 7.2% increase to her elemental damage while playing her normally. Terracotta General increases her damage output since her skills scale off of Chase damage. Lastly, consider adding Jade Crane to increase her Ultimate skill damage, but is not totally necessary to complete her build.
This Ancient Mark recommendation was made based on the assumption that all characters involved have the 5-star version of their weapons.

| Skill | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Passive Skill: Silent Dirge | Viola's core gameplay revolves around activating her passive skill. Her team gets the most of her abilities when this skill is active on the battlefield as it provides sustained area-of-effect (AoE) damage. Its effects remain active even when Viola isn't the active team member. |
| Skill 1: Deep Tonal Range | Using Skill 1 is essential to Viola's gameplay loop. It is recommended to prioritize Skill 1 as well because it will be used frequently to activate Silent Dirge. |
| Combo Skill: Stringless Vibration | While Viola is in Combo Burst mode, using Skill 2: Staccato Bowing, activates the Original Tonal Range (Combo) around her and generates a spreading Resonance every 1.1 seconds, dealing Chase Damage. |
| Skill 2: Staccato Bowing | Skill 2 is also an essential skill in activating Silent Dirge. So it's also recommended to pay attention to Skill 2's power as you'll also be using it frequently. |
| Ultimate Skill: Requiem Splendor | Not necessary to upgrade with regards to Viola's core gameplay. Only upgrade this skill if you have spare resources. |
| Basic: Unending Recital | Not necessary to upgrade with regards to Viola's core gameplay. Only upgrade this skill if you have spare resources. |
The skills listed here have been arranged in order of priority, with the topmost skill being highest priority.

Enki
|
Having Viola and Enki use their Passive Skills will provide AoE damage that last for lengths of time. Florence, or any other DPS, can capitalize on the continuous damage affecting multiple enemies by dealing additional damage while Viola's and/or Enki's passive skill are in effect.
While Viola's Passive Skill is active, activate Enki's Passive Skill to debuff enemies while provididing additional AoE damage. Then, switch to Florence to unleash more damage to weakened enemies as well as those who have bigger HP.
| Character | Explanation |
|---|---|
Shamash | DPS Shamash can be a strong DPS especially when his passive skill is upgraded. As his Rage fills up quicker by going head on against enemies, he can stay longer on the battlefield and continually capitalize on Viola's passive skill. |
Ereshan | DPS As another DPS option, Ereshan can pick off easier enemies while Viola's passive skills is active, effectively thinning out the battlefield before taking on more difficult enemies. |
Nanna | Breaker Nanna's AoE skills can also provide additional sustained attacks, serving as another Breaker option for the team. |
| Coming Soon! |
|---|
Viola's key gameplay loop involves casting her passive skill and synchronizing with the team's main damage dealers while her passive skill is active. Viola's Passive Skill: Silent Dirge can generate a wave of Resonance dealing area damage onto enemies continuously for as long as her Original Tonal Range and Tonicized Tonal Range are active on the battlefield.
To activate Tonicized Tonal Range, use her Skill 1: Deep Tonal Range, which releases an Original Tonal Range (yellow wave) at the target. Afterwards, Use Skill 2: Staccato Bowing to transform the Original Tonal Range into Tonicized Tonal Range (red wave).
When Tonicized Tonal Range is active, use Skill 1: Deep Tonal Range again to cast Original Tonal Range (yellow wave). Successfully performing the Skill 1⟶Skill 2⟶Skill 1 combo will cast both Tonal Ranges and trigger Passive Skill: Silent Dirge.
Use Skill 1: Deep Tonal Range to cast an Original Tonal Range onto a target and deal regular damage. The first step is done in preparation to activate Tonicized Tonal Range.
While the Original Tonal Range is active, move into attack range and then use Skill 2: Staccato Bowing to turn Original Tonal Range into Tonicized Tonal Range. You'll need to be in close range to the enemy and the active Original Tonal Range to successfully perform this.
Cast a new Original Tonal Range by using Skill 1: Deep Tonal Range to have both Tonicized Tonal Range and Original Tonal Range active on the battlefield. When both Tonal Ranges are active, it triggers Passive Skill: Silent Dirge.
You'll know when you've successfully activated Original Tonal Range and Tonicized Tonal Range if you see both a yellow wave and red wave on the battlefield.
While Passive Skill: Silent Dirge is active, you can switch to another character, preferrably a DPS, to deal more damage on top of the sustained area damage from the wave of Resonance and Tonal Ranges.
Note: Replacing Viola with another teammate will not cancel the effect of Skill 1⟶Skill 2⟶Skill 1 combo triggering Passive Skill.
It will be a great advantage to have already casted Passive Skill: Silent Dirge and switch out to other characters to continuously deal more damage onto enemies while the effects of Viola's skills are still active. The effects generally last to 15s, with Silent Dirge for around 13.6s. This is advantageous for your team especially when Viola's skills are in cooldown.
When Viola's Ultimate Skill: Requiem Splendor is ready to be unleashed, try to target multiple enemies that are close to each other as her Ultimate Skill casts two electric nets that trap all enemies and deal damage within its range.
It is best to queue all team members' Ultimate Skills and unleash them after Viola performs her Ultimate Skill: Requiem Splendor.
| Combo |
|---|
| Skill 1: Deep Tonal Range → Skill 2: Staccato Bowing → Skill 1: Deep Tonal Range |
The Passive Skill Activation Combo triggers Viola's Passive Skill: Silent Dirge which deals sustained area-of-effect (AoE) damage. It is done by successfully performing Skill 1 → Skill 2 → Skill 1. This activates Original Tonal Range and Tonicized Tonal Range on the battlefield which will trigger Passive Skill: Silent Dirge.
Passive Skill: Silent Dirge generates a wave of Resonance dealing continuous damage onto enemies within range for as long as her Original Tonal Range and Tonicized Tonal Range are active on the battlefield.
To activate Tonicized Tonal Range, use her Skill 1: Deep Tonal Range, which releases an Original Tonal Range (yellow wave) at the target. Afterwards, Use Skill 2: Staccato Bowing to transform the Original Tonal Range into Tonicized Tonal Range (red wave). When Tonicized Tonal Range is active, use Skill 1: Deep Tonal Range again to cast Original Tonal Range (yellow wave).
| Potential | Explanation |
|---|---|
| P1 | While Tonal Range lasts for 15 seconds, each deals Regular Attack DMG to enemies within its range only every 2 seconds. Halving the damage frequency of Tonal Range and Reverberation to once per second will get you more value out of Viola's Passive Skill. Viola's core gameplay is involved around activating her Passive Skill and synchronizing its effects with her team members. So, it is highly recommended to prioritize P1: Tangled Temperament. |
| P2 | P2: Frantic Duet is also a recommended Potential as it increases damage from Tonal Range by 10%. It's recommended to strengthen Viola's Regular Attack DMG in tandem with this Potential to get the most out of it. |
| P3 | The enemy debuff granted by P3: Lamenting Aria is especially useful against hordes of enemies and elite enemies. P3 reduces the movement speed of enemies within the Tonal Range by 50%. |
| P6 | P6: Mournful Requiem is of least priority to upgrade with regards Viola's core gameplay. Upgrade when you have spare resources. |
Some potentials were removed due to only being useful for Skill Enhancement or are still being assessed.
