| Li Chi Review |

| Li Chi is an amazing main DPS that shines brightest in boss encounters. With his high damage output and strong elemental synergy, he is a strong contender for being the best boss killer in the game. However, players will have to be wary with his risky playstyle and will have to invest in a team built around to mitigate his self-inflicted injuries and keep him alive. |

The only qualities he lacks as a leader are experience and patience, traits that come with age. Now, Li Chi bears the heavy responsibility of guiding his clan in this new era. |
| Second Story |
|---|
| Over time, many of the Tianli Clan’s old rules and lifestyles have evolved into customs rather than strict laws. Despite his status as clan leader, Li Chi’s daily life mirrors that of his peers. Poor academic performance leads to calls from teachers to his elders and subsequent scolding. His allowance is tightly controlled under the pretext of “helping you develop good habits,” and he must excel in exams to receive more. His authority is most apparent when playing games with his peers: “I’m the clan leader; give me the carry position!” In truth, Li Chi’s gaming skills are as exceptional as his academic performance. Each season, the children of the Tianli Clan flock to him for help ranking up in games. “Clan Leader, take us along!” During high-stress gaming moments, Li Chi maintains good etiquette, only typing “?” in the chat repeatedly instead of insulting others. This earned him the nickname:“Question Mark Clan Head.” When matched with a high-ranking player who spams question marks at the slightest issue, they automatically call him Clan Leader, hoping he will help them rank up. Consequently, the Tianli Clan unknowingly gained a prominent reputation in the gaming world under the moniker:“Question Mark Clan.” |
| Third Story |
|---|
| According to historical accounts, Li Jun, the founding ancestor of the Tianli Clan, lived during the reign of Ji Xia, the first emperor of Qian. Renowned for his exceptional bravery and martial prowess, Li Jun mysteriously passed away shortly after the emperor established the empire. Although the cause of his death remains undocumented, a prominent theory suggests the emperor grew suspicious of the clan’s martial dominance and had Li Jun assassinated. While this theory lacks concrete evidence, one fact is certain: the Tianli Clan eventually transitioned to a tradition where its leaders were “Saintesses.” To balance the clan’s warrior traditions, mastery of combat ceased to be a requirement for leadership. Over time, the clan leader’s primary duty shifted to presiding over sacred ceremonies—particularly leading the sacrificial dances performed during festivals. Trouble arose when Li Chi reached adolescence. Rebellious by nature, he flatly refused to perform the sacrificial dance during traditional ceremonies, much to the frustration of the elders. Resourceful as ever, the elders devised a clever solution to bring him in line: They explained the economic significance of the ceremonies—the revenue from broadcasting the events, the influx of tourists to Mount Tianque, and the jobs it created for the clan. Realizing his refusal would jeopardize the clan’s livelihood, Li Chi begrudgingly relented. Thus, he reluctantly embraced his role—managing clan affairs and continuing to perform the ancestral dance to ensure the clan’s survival. “Think you can challenge the clan patriarch? Just ask him which dance he’s best at, and you’ll witness the full force of his skills, unleashed upon you,” is a phrase often repeated by the younger members of the Tianli Clan, blending humor with their respect for Li Chi’s begrudging yet undeniable talent. |
| Fourth Story |
|---|
| Tianque Mountain is rich in bamboo, and Li Chi learned to carve bamboo whistles at a young age. As he grew older, he also learned to play the bamboo flute. Some songs in the Tianli Clan’s folk music have been accompanied by the bamboo flute since ancient times, but both the songs and sheet music are rarely shared—only performed for close friends or relatives. Due to this custom, Li Chi often wanders into the bamboo forest of Tianque Mountain to play the flute alone. At some point, his music began to attract a swarm of phoenix butterflies. Whenever he played under the moon, these butterflies would appear, fluttering in harmony with the melody. However, when he tried to identify them in the library, he couldn’t find a matching species. Even the elders had never seen such butterflies. This did not trouble Li Chi. There are countless unknown creatures in the world. Since the butterflies enjoyed listening to his music, he was happy to have them as his audience. But as he grew older, the butterflies seemed to become more intelligent. When he was calm, their flight patterns were smooth and natural; when he was emotional, their flight became chaotic. Once, when a nosy young clan member spied on his flute practice, the butterflies flew at the intruder’s face, scaring them into a hasty retreat. If one day someone is fortunate enough to be invited by the Tianli leader to hear his flute playing, will the phoenix butterflies gently perch on their shoulders? |

| Ancient Mark Layout |
![]() |
Nourishing Wings synergizes well with Li-Chi's kit and further boosts his crit rate 3% every time he takes damage which stacks up to 3 times totaling to 9%. Dragon Essence grants a 3% increase to charged damage, which in turn, increases his damage when his passive is activated.
Consider taking Shining Star to get his Ultimate Skill faster so that you can heal up and swap much more efficiently. In addition, take Jade Crane to increase the damage done by his Ultimate Skill.
This Ancient Mark recommendation was made based on the assumption that all characters involved have the 5-star version of their weapons.
The reason for increasing his ATK instead of HP is that the latter only scales with his Talent Lvl. 1, while the former increases everything else. Also, due to his skills damaging himself by a percentage of his total HP, the thresholds would be the same.
However, if you find yourself having trouble with surviving attacks due to Li Chi's low HP, you may opt to go all-in on HP instead of ATK.

| Skill | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Lord of Weaponry Return | Li Chi's passive skill. This is the main contributor of Li Chi's damage, so leveling it is priority. |
| Blood Pierce | Li Chi's first skill. Since this skill upgrades both his first skill in both of his forms, it's also prioritized since you will be using this skill during Godfall Fury. |
| Rite of Thunder | Li Chi's second skill. This is primarily used to gather Battle Will to activate Godfall Fury and not for the damage. |
| Thunderstorm Fury | Li Chi's ultimate skill. The primary use of his ultimate is to heal Li Chi and swap out efficiently. |
| Bladewake | The damage from using Combo Burst is not necessary, as it's mostly used to activate Godfall Fury immediately. |
| Basic Attack | His basic attack doesn't cover the enhanced basic attacks done during Godfall Fury, making it an unnecessary upgrade. |
The skills listed here have been arranged in order of priority, with the topmost skill being highest priority.
Prioritize his passive skill as most of his outgoing damage is upgraded when leveling the skill. Blood Pierce and Sweeping Blow are also upgraded when leveling his first skill so that's also a necessary upgrade to further boost his damage.
Upgrading his other skills are mostly a bonus, as the rest are used to supplement what he needs from them.
DISCLAIMER: Due to Azi being bugged, we have opted to remove her from Li Chi's Best Teams list for the time being.

With Li Chi's long rotation and many hits to use Electrocute, he can take advantage of strong elemental synergies.
Hephae is also a great partner to take advantage of Elemental Anomalies and her buffs. Since she shields damage instead of healing damage, you can take advantage of Li Chi's critical damage buffs more.
Viola is a very strong partner to stack Electrocute and her quick rotation allows you to swap back into Li Chi in minimal time.

| Strengths | |||
|---|---|---|---|
|
• Amazing single target damage • Strong elemental synergy with kit • Easy execution of rotation |
|||
| Weaknesses | |||
|
• Requires a dedicated healer or barrier teammate due to skills doing self-damage • Long rotation to execute and need to time certain attacks • Requires huge investment for best results |
With his simple to execute rotation, strong elemental synergy, and strong damage with his kit, Li-Chi is arguably the best single target main DPS units in the game.
There are things that anchor him, however, like needing a dedicated healer or barrier support unit to help him survive, doing his long rotation, needing to time certain attacks, and the need to invest a lot of resources to get the best possible version of him.
Li Chi's game plan is get 100 Battle Will as soon as possible, then activate Godfall Fury to obliterate his enemies.
When activated, make sure to time your attacks with the butterflies that appear during Godfall Fury.
In a normal battle scenario, make sure to mark a target using Blood Pierce.
This makes sure that you have a priority target when Godfall Fury is activated.
Use Li Chi's Basic Attack combo and the three Rite of Thunder casts to build Battle Will quickly.
Take note that the last two parts of his Basic Attack combo are the only attacks that give him Battle Will.
Upon reaching 100 Battle Will, activate Godfall Fury to start pushing damage.
Remember to time your basic attacks with the coming butterflies, as pressing it too early or too late will result in a weaker attack.
After Godfall Fury expires Li Chi will become vulnerable and cannot do any actions.
Swap out to a different character to get him out of harm's way and also to re-buff your team.
Li Chi's skills cost health to use. While he does get stronger with losing health depending on the Potential and level he's in, it's risky to stay at a low health especially if you're fighting stronger enemies.
Be mindful of your health and keep him alive and use his Ultimate if you need to heal up.
| Combo |
|---|
| Blood Pierce → Rite of Thunder x3 → Basic Attack x4 → Godfall Fury → Tianlin Arts: Evil Breaker → Sweeping Blow |
Li Chi's basic rotation involves using all of his vigor and getting enough Battle Will to be able to use Godfall Fury. With the use of his Basic Attack string, you can regain one point of Vigor to be able to use Sweeping Blow while Godfall Fury is active.
Remember to time your enhanced Basic Attacks with Tianlin Arts: Evil Breaker to maximize his damage output. Take note that the Rite of Thunder and Basic Attack sequence can be interchanged depending on the situation.
| Combo |
|---|
| Rite of Thunder x3 → Godfall Fury → Tianlin Arts: Evil Breaker → Sweeping Blow |
Requires Talent Level 2
Unlocking his Talent Level 2 lets you stack 100 Battle Will after using Rite of Thunder three times, which means that you can enter Godfall Fury immediately and have one Vigor point to use for Sweeping Blow.
This is more useful for boss encounters as you would want to use Blood Pierce against multiple enemies so that you have a clear priority of who to hit.
| Combo |
|---|
| Combo Burst → Tianlin Arts: Evil Breaker → Sweeping Blow → Tianlin Arts: Evil Breaker → Sweeping Blow |
With the use of Combo Burst, Li Chi can activate Godfall Fury immediately and will last as long as the Combo Burst gauge.
During this, you are able to use Sweeping Blow twice in one rotation to maximize your damage.
| Potential | Explanation |
|---|---|
| P3 | With Li Chi gaining Battle Will by simply using Rite of Thunder, he can quickly gain stacks that increase his damage. |
| P5 | Li Chi can easily meet the conditions to gaining an increase of 60% Critical Damage just by using his basic rotation, which is a massive damage increase. |
| P2 | Li Chi's Tianlli Arts: Evil Breaker or his enhanced Basic Attack while Godfall Fury is active, makes up for the most of the damage that he deals. |
| P1 | With Godfall Fury active, this makes sure that you can lengthen the amount of time you can keep it active with multiple enemies. However, this isn't as necessary as his other upgrades since you will want to use Li Chi against bosses and not against weaker enemies. |
| P6 | While it seems that having the ability to revive Li Chi with his risky playstyle is an absolute must, you can circumvent taking lethal damage with the proper team setup and knowing the enemies' attack patterns. |
Some potentials were removed due to only being useful for Skill Enhancement or are still being assessed.

I personally believe that he's worth putting in the effort for building. He's a standard character, meaning that his potential level is easier to farm [and his weapon sync too], and he does really great damage without a proper buffer. His only downside is that you need a dedicated healer / shielder at all times [his hp runs down kinda fast] . Besides that, if you need someone to deal good damage and get the job done quickly then pick Li Chi! (/≧▽≦)/
