| Ming Review |
|---|
| Ming is a great off-field sub DPS character who can efficiently damage two enemies at once by linking them together and causing them to share damage. With a quick skill rotation, players can easily activate her second skill, which grants a flame cloak to frontline characters and deals damage to nearby enemies. However, for Ming to truly shine, you will need her signature weapon and character duplicates. |

| Background | |
| Ming was born into a family with a longstanding tradition and assumed control of the family's traditional business while still a student. In addition, she is a folklorist and a researcher of cultural relics. Due to her expertise, WeiShi has assigned her to collaborate with the Bureau of Oversight & Integrity and the Bureau of Culture & Tourism on numerous occasions. Although many responsibilities demand a significant portion of her energy, fortunately, they all captivate her interest. As for those tasks that fail to pique her interest, they often lead the young Ming to sigh in resignation. | |
| First Story |
|---|
| Ming was born into a family with a long-standing tradition. Families like hers were once common in Qian, but now they find themselves in an awkward position. In today's Qian, an ideal state without the need for noble families, anything associated with these old families-rules, customs, and even families themselves-has been large abandoned, often labeled as "feudal superstitions." Ming's family traditionally provided a wide range of services, such as I Ching divination, feng shui, and funeral rites, all of which are now linked to these discarded "old things." Though they may seem outdated and are no longer understood by many, Ming firmly believes that not all old things are meaningless. If we completely abandon the past, how can we move steadily forward? "We may no longer need them, but that doesn't mean we should forget their existence," she often says. The responsibilities of her family's business, tasks from WeiShi, and her advisory role to the Department of Governmental Affairs all consume a significant amount of Ming's energy. Amidst these heavy responsibilities, she devotes whatever strength she has left to recovering those ancient items that have been carelessly lost over the ages. |
| Second Story |
|---|
| To address the frequent anomalies in QingYu City, and gather relevant intelligence, WeiShi and the Bureau of Oversight & Integrity have teamed up, offering various forms of assistance, with Ming being a key contributor. Dispatched by WeiShi, Ming serves as a special Folk affairs Advisor to the Bureau in QingYu City. In addition to her primary duties for WeiShi, she also creates folklore-related educational materials for the Bureau's publicty department to prevent criminals from exploiting anomalies for fraudulent purposes. A citizen who was nearly swindled presented this banner. He explained that he was on the verge of handing over his entire fortune to fraudsters, but the daily science updates from the Bureau's publicity department saved him just in time. Grateful, he had this exquisite banner made and personally delivered it to the Bureau of Oversight & Integrity in QingYu City to express his thanks. "Based on the information from the Bureau of Oversight & Integrity, the expert might look like a 'mystic', but everything she says is grounded in scientific principles! It was incredibly convincing! I owe the safety of my wealth to this 'mystic', I mean, expert! Thank you, Bureau of Oversight & Integrity! Thank you to the 'mystic' expert from the Bureau!" the grateful citizen told reporters. Ming later declined interviews and photo requests from both reporters and the grateful citizen, citing her busy work schedule. |
| Third Story |
|---|
| Ming knows how to tie many types of knots, but if you ask her to demonstrate, the result might not be very impressive. In traditional Qian culture, it was common for elders to give handmade knots to children as a symbol of protection and well-wishes for their growth. Growing up with her grandparents, Ming was always well cared for by the elderly neighbors who treated her like their own granddaughter. They gave her numerous handmade knots, each beautifully crafted and filled with heartfelt meanings. One day, after having given her various knots, the elders seemed to have collectively found a new hobby: teaching Ming how to tie these knots herself. While Ming excelled at gathering and organizing information, she struggled with the actual knot-tying, a rare setback for her. Perhaps it was due to the impatience of other young people, or maybe Ming's patience with the elders made them more eager to help. In any case, they would gather at Ming's home, teaching her knot-tying step by step. The elders enjoyed seeing Ming's rare moments of clumsiness and cherished those warm afternoons spent guiding her. And Ming? She didn't mind those times either. |
| Fourth Story |
|---|
| Ming's family business originally covered a wide range of traditional practices, including I Ching divination, feng shui, and funeral rites. From a young age, Ming had been studying the ancient knowledge passed down in her family. In the realm of divination alone, there were dozens of methods. This wisdom, originating from ancient civilizations, is profound and complex, difficult to interpret through modern logic. For contemporary Qian, these practices are seen as relics of the past that should have been discarded long ago. The only aspect that remains somewhat viable today is the practice of funeral rites. Although Ming does not agree that these ancient practices should be abandoned, she has nonetheless placed them all out of sight overnight and rarely reveals them to others. Unless necessary, she avoids displaying these skills-whether this is due to the complexity and hassle of the procedures is unknown. Even when she is willing to perform a divination, she rarely discloses the results to others. "Knowing some omens of good or bad fortune in advance doesn't necessarily mean anything. Who can say if a setback won't turn into a blessing? But for you, no matter how hard I try to divine for you, I always can't determine the outcome." |

Ming's best assets are her quick rotation, buffs, and elemental buildup. Additionally, she deals considerably higher damage compared to other support DPS units which makes her a great #2 unit. Focus on increasing her Elemental Mastery, Critical Hit Rate, and Critical Damage to further boost her damage output.
This Ancient Mark recommendation was made based on the assumption that all characters involved have the 5-star version of their weapons.

| Skill | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Gleaming Light | Ming’s second skill, Gleaming Light, is key to her core gameplay. Prioritize upgrading this skill to increase its damage. |
| Continuous Woe | Though Ming’s passive is only effective against enemy mobs, it is useful for eliminating multiple elite enemies. |
| Tideweave | Ming's first skill. You'll mostly use this skill to charge Ming's second skill. |
| Luminous Travel | It's not high on the priority list, but it can be upgraded for additional damage output. |
| Scout | This skill only increases the damage of Ming's first skill. |
| Message | Ming's basic attack. Not necessary to upgrade, unless you have spare materials. |
The skills listed here have been arranged in order of priority, with the topmost skill being highest priority.
Upgrade Ming’s second skill first to increase its damage. Her passive, Continuous Woe, is also worth upgrading, as its damage-sharing capability is useful for handling elite enemies. Only upgrade the other skills if you have spare resources.

Zero
|
Zero serves as the team’s First Strike, providing an ATK buff to the entire team for 20 seconds. After this, immediately switch to Ming and follow her combo to activate her second skill, which deals damage to enemies for 10 seconds. Once both buffs are active, switch to Florence to handle the remaining enemies.
After a few rotations, their ultimates will become available. Queue them to deal a burst of heavy damage over a short period of time. Unlocking Zero’s Talent 2 grants the team 10% damage resistance for 20 seconds after she casts her ultimate skill.
This team can also trigger Elemental Overload by inflicting enemies with "Glaring" and "Burning" Elemental Anomalies.
Ming’s signature weapon, Talents 1 and 2, and Potentials 2 and 3 significantly improve her second skill by extending its duration, increasing your frontline character’s movement speed and damage resistance, reducing enemy damage resistance, and adding an explosion that deals AoE damage when it ends.
| Character | Explanation |
|---|---|
Hephae | Assist Hephae can help trigger the "Burning" Elemental Anomaly more quickly while also providing additional buffs to the team and serving as an off-field sub DPS. Prioritize using characters with different elemental alignments, like Shamash or Ereshan, to trigger Elemental Overload. |
Azi | Assist Azi’s debuffs can help you defeat enemies more quickly by reducing their damage resistance. Pair Azi with Ming for her off-field sub DPS support, and add a powerful carry like Li Chi to benefit from the team's buffs and debuffs. |
Viola | Breaker With Viola, you can maximize your team's off-field sub DPS capabilities through her passive, Silent Dirge. Pair her with Ming to quickly eliminate weaker enemies, allowing your carry to focus on much tougher ones. |

Shamash
|
Zero
|
Just like with the Florence team, you'll start the rotation by activating Zero’s ATK buff and Ming’s second skill. Once both buffs are active, quickly switch to Shamash to take out enemies.
Alternatively, you can start the rotation with Shamash as First Strike to build up Rage before receiving buffs from Ming and Zero. Switch to Zero and Ming after gaining enough Rage points to trigger them immediately when Shamash re-enters the battlefield. This way, Shamash can fully utilize the buffs while his passive skill, Law Embodiment, is active.
The team's ultimate skills will be charged after a few rotations. Queue them up to quickly deliver a burst of high damage.
Unlocking Shamash's Talent 1, Potential 1 and 2, and signature weapon greatly improves his damage-dealing capability while his passive ability is active.
| Strengths | |||
|---|---|---|---|
|
• Can trigger Elemental Anomaly Burning while off-field. • Add buffs and debuffs through her second skill. • Link enemies with her first skill, causing them to share damage. • Quick skill rotation. |
|||
| Weaknesses | |||
|
• Ming's second skill effectiveness relies on frontline characters that are always in close contact with enemies. • First skill's utility only works against multiple enemies. • Her Potentials, Talents, and signature weapon must be unlocked to fully utilize the effects of her second skill. |
Ming is a great support character that can deal damage off-field through her second skill. Though this skill is great, you'll need to unlock her signature weapon, Talents, and Potentials to access her full potential. Meanwhile, her first skill works best on enemy mobs, limiting its usefulness against bosses.
Ming’s primary focus is to activate her second skill, Gleaming Light, and transfer it to another character. Use both the basic and enhanced versions of her first skill to quickly charge up her second skill, then switch to another character to add buffs/debuffs or damage enemies.
Ming’s first skill allows you to link two targets by casting both its basic and enhanced versions, making them share a percentage of the damage received during its duration. This also charges her second skill.
It also works on single enemies, like bosses, but its damage-sharing capability won’t activate.
Once you’ve charged her second skill, cast it to generate a flame cloak that damages nearby enemies every 0.5 seconds for 10 seconds.
Unlocking her Talent 1 and 2 increases the duration of her second skill up to 15 seconds and adds an explosion after it expires. Additionally, her Potential 2 and 3 provide 20% damage resistance to your characters and reduce enemies' damage resistance by 15%. Her signature weapon, Lumina, also adds 20% movement speed to frontline characters wrapped in her flame cloak.
Ming’s flame cloak will remain active even if you switch to another character. You can either switch to your DPS character to deal damage or further add buffs or debuffs through another support character.
After a few character rotations, you'll gather enough charge to cast their ultimate skills. Queue them to deal heavy damage to multiple enemies over a wide area.
| Combo |
|---|
| Tideweave → Palm Strike → Gleaming Light → Switch Character |
This combo prioritizes charging Ming’s second skill as quickly as possible. Cast both the basic and enhanced versions of her first skill once, activate her second skill, and then switch to another character. This allows the switched character to gain Ming's flame cloak and even receive additional buffs through her Talents, Potentials, and signature weapon.
| Combo |
|---|
| Initiate Ming's Combo Burst State → Gleaming Light → Switch Character |
After a few rotations, you'll charge up the Combo Gauge to activate Ming’s Combo Burst State. Use this to quickly cast Gleaming Light without needing to cast her first skill. After that, immediately switch to another character to transfer her second skill’s effect and take advantage of the remaining duration of the Combo Burst.
| Potential | Explanation |
|---|---|
| P2 | Unlocking this Potential adds 20% damage resistance to your frontline character surrounded by Ming’s second skill, Gleaming Light. |
| P3 | Enemies hit by Ming’s second skill will have their damage resistance reduced by 15% for 2 seconds. |
| P6 | Ming’s final Potential increases her Talent 1’s damage by up to 90% based on its duration. Her Talent 1 adds an explosion that deals 290% Chase Damage once Gleaming Light ends. |
Some potentials were removed due to only being useful for Skill Enhancement or are still being assessed.
