The right time to attack Bahamut is when he descends from the sky after jumping. Attack his back and then move away when you see he is about to do a second attack.
If Bahamut is on a separate island, short ranged attacks won't reach him. Use abilities such as ranged materia and Limit Breaks to deal damage to Bahamut even when he's far away!
Jump | Thunder |
---|---|
Bahamut's Jump and Thunder attacks are hard to dodge, so just guard them to take minimal damage. You will lose the target Lock-On after Bahamut jumps, so make sure to Lock-On him again.
When Bahamut casts purple fireballs called Ray, you can move in a large circular motion to avoid them. If you're still having a hard time dodging every shot, you can opt to block to decrease damage taken.
Ether | Soma |
Bahamut in the rematch can dish out attacks that can not only damage your HP, but also deplete your MP and AP. Bring lots of Ether and Soma to be able to use Materia.
Attack Pattern | Description |
---|---|
Jump | Bahamut jumps up then dives down to deal damage. |
Slash | Usually comes after Jump, Bahamut will attack with his claws in a wide arc. |
Thunder | Summons bolts of lightning to deal AoE damage. |
Wide Tail Slash | Behemoth attacks with his tail on a wide radius. This attack will cause knockback. |
Ray | Casts tons of Purple Fireballs that almost home in on you. |
Megaflare | Bahamut's strongest attack locked behind the Ability Gauge. |
Attack Pattern | Description |
---|---|
Graviga | Fires three shots that deal damage based on 1/5th of Bahamut's remaining HP. |
Megaflare | Can damage HP, MP, and AP. |
