Costly Punch

Costly Punch is the materia that produces the most amount of damage in the lowest amount of time. The Materia's damage ignores VIT, and penetrates both Barrier and MBarrier at the cost of Zack's HP.

Costly Punch is in the highest tier of Punch Materia, with Iron Fist and Goblin Punch. Top-tier materia are created by synthesizing Materia with DMW Limit Break (independent) materia, such as Octoslash and Rush Assault.

Dualcast

Dualcast allows Zack to cast any Magic at double the effect at the cost of twice the MP.

Curaga heals Zack for a large amount. The restored HP will depend on his MAG attribute and with Dualcast equipped, this materia can potentially restore all of Zack's HP in one cast.

While Full Cure is still viable, Curaga is much more flexible when it comes to setups because it can be modified to increase Zack's attributes via Item Fusion.

Using Lucky Stars + Moogle Power makes levelling up Materia easier.

Lucky Stars increases the chance of Cissnei appearing in the DMW. Moogle Power does the same, increasing the chances of Moogles appearing.

Buy using both Materia, Zack efficiently levels up his materia throughout the game.
