Learn the Controls

As a remaster that was originally released in 2007, the game's button mapping has adapted to modern controllers. Players should familiarize themselves with the updated control schemes from the different platforms.

Using the keyboard and mouse can be confusing so it is recommended to use a different controller from either Playstation or Xbox.

Study the Battle Mechanics

Crisis Core: Reunion's battle mechanics are unique compared to other games in the franchise. It features a roulette-like Limit Break system called the Digital Mind Wave (DMW) that determines attacks and buffs through RNG.

The game also offers the typical action RPG experience of slashing through waves of enemies while switching between physical attacks, combos, and Materia.

Use Quick Heal in a Pinch

Players with low health outside of battle can press down on the D-pad to use quick health. Using quick health will automatically consume any healing items the player has.

Level Up Materia and Use Materia Fusion

Materia works the same way as magic attacks from other fantasy games. In Crisis Core: Reunion, players can fuse Materia to make stronger elemental attacks.

Use the Digital Mind Wave (DMW)

Landing a great role during the Modulating Phase can make break important battles. Players should try to complete the DMW Gallery to get a better chance of using summons or executing special attacks.
