Tips and Strategies

Grab the Dresser Key from the Base Facility

Dresser Key Location Map
Make sure to grab the Dresser Key at the base facility. This allows you to grab the Soldier Outfit from the Shinra Manor's second floor. You'll need this to save Cloud from Mako poisoning later on.

Prioritize Enemies Targetting Cloud

Waves of enemies will attempt to kidnap Cloud as soon as you exit the Shinra Manor. Always prioritize ones that are heading straight for Cloud to avoid restarting the phase.

Unlock Chests in Nibel Plains

Gun Head Locations Map

Stars indicate Gun Head locations while the enclosed numbers determine how many of them are in the area

Players can snipe Gun Bull Heads in Nibel Plains once you take Cloud to safety. Rrewards at the end of this phase are based on how many Gun Bull Heads flee the area (FLED points). The less FLED points you accumulate by the end, the better the rewards.

Chest Rewards

FLED Points Rewards

1-2 Gravity, Dash, Thundaga
3-5 Dash, Thundaga

Headshots are Vital

Always aim at a Gun Bull Head's turret head. Headshots guarantees instant-kills most of the time. Landing body and leg shots will also deal decent damage. Avoid hitting the shield at all costs.

Upgrade Your Sniper Rifle

KILL Points will also accumulate as you go through the Gun Bull Heads in Nibel Plains with your Sniper Rifle. It is recommended that players prioritize upgrading Wide Target and Steady Aim first, to land shots easier later on. Investing in Smart Bomb may help players deal with clustered groups of Gun Bull Heads near the middle of Nibel Plains as well.

Upgrade Req. KILL Points
Attack Power 3 pts.
Steady Aim 3 pts.
Wide Target 3 pts.
Smart Bomb 6 pts.

Just killed the G Exterminator with the Odin summon. It was a bit hurt already and I'm fairly certain it's an overlooked bug. So abuse it while you can I guess?
