Zack Characteristics and Role

Best Friend and Mentor of Cloud

Zack is the best friend of Cloud. He is known to assist Cloud with various issues in missions during their time together at Shinra.

Cloud shares about his hometown during one of their missions. They then start going on missions together and that is when they started becoming close friends.

Aerith's First Love

Zack is Aerith's first love and boyfriend. They meet at a chance encounter after Zack fell through the church's roof into the church's flowerbed that Aerith was tending to.

Angeal is the Senior of Zack

Angeal is Zack's senior as a 1st Class SOLDIER, and is the one who teaches Zack the basics of being a SOLDIER. Angeal eventually entrusts him with the Buster Sword saying: Embrace your dreams, never let go of your pride as a Soldier.
