Tips for Materia Fusion

Fuse Low Level Materia with DMW Materia to Get High Level Materia

Goblin Punch + DMW Materia Costly Punch

If you want to turn your low-level Materia into high-level ones, combine them with a DMW materia of any type, (ex. Octaslash). Any low ranking materia will instantly become high ranking materia after this.

Fuse Materia with Libra to Get the Same Materia with Higher Value

Flare + Libra Flare

If you want to strengthen some materia, it's recommended to fuse it with Libra for a higher chance of getting the same materia after fusing! Using materia other than Libra can result to changing the base materia all together.

The Base Materia will be the One of Higher Value

Firaga + Fire Firaga
Fira + Thunder Blizzara
Firaga + Drain Drainra

The base materia used for fusion will always be the materia of higher value, and it increases the chances of getting a higher rank materia. For example, between Fire, Fira, and Firaga, Firaga is the base materia since it is the one with the highest level.

This is a basic rule players must be aware of when fusing materia of different levels or values. There are some cases where fusing a high rank materia with a low rank materia will result into another low rank materia, but it is uncommon.

Fusing Materia in the Master Level will Result into Materia of Higher Value

Fire (M) + Fire (M) Fira

Fusing two Master Level Materia together will raise the resulting Fused Materia's value higher. Combining two Fire materia will still result into one Fire materia. But fusing two Fire (M) materia will result into Fira.

How to Fuse Materia

Fuse Two Materia to Make a New One

Materia Fusion is done when you fuse two materia together to make a new materia. Materia created through fusion are usually set at level 1, but when two of the same materia are fused, the higher level will be carried over.

When a Master level Materia is used in fusion, the fused materia with a higher level may be created. So make sure to experiment and fuse your materia once you have collected a good amount of them.

Materia with Higher Parameter Values Carry Over

When fusing two materia together, the one with the higher Parameter Value will carry over this value to the newly fused materia together with 50% of the lesser parameter value.

If the parameters of the two materia are the same, the fused materia's parameter value will be a set number according to that materia's characteristics.
