How to Beat Genesis (First Encounter)

Guard Black Feather

Genesis not only moves fast, but his attacks are also quick. Trying to evade the Black Feather attack will be extremely difficult, so defend yourself using Guard.

Evade Dark Energy

You can avoid the Dark Energy attack by evading sideways. You can dodge sideways until you are behind Genesis to deal Critical Hits.

Attack After 4-Hit Combo

Genesis will be unable to attack for a short while after attacking four times with his sword. Use that information to your advantage by attacking after Genesis dishes out his 4-Hit Combo!

Remove Defense with Dispel

Cast Dispel when Genesis casts Defense to avoid dealing much less damage. You may have to use Dispel more than once to remove the buff.

Use High Jump to Destroy Ability Gauge

Genesis' Ability Gauge will show up for only a short period of time. Use the High Jump command to easily deplete the Ability Gauge.
