7 | You will encounter 4 Drowners along the passage. Slay them. |
8 | Examine the corpse found in the chamber and the one further along the passage. Burn both of the corpses. |
9 | 2 more Drowners are waiting for you in the sewer room. Kill them then search the room with you Witcher Senses. |
10 | Examine the bomb part on the ground, found in front of the west door. |
11 | Backtrack and talk to Dijkstra. You will receive 200 XP. |
12 | Inpsect the eastern pool then examine the silver lid located on the edge of the eastern side of the pool. You wll receive 50 XP. |
13 | Head to Margrave Heckel's house. It is located west of Hierarch Square. |
14 | Use Aard to break down the door and investigate the house using your Witcher Sense. |
15 | Go up the stairs and examine the note and the bottle on the table next to the stairs. |
16 | Go into the room with wine racks and insert the bottle into the slot for year 1251. |
17 | Enter the secret door that opens near the stairs. Inspect the room and use your Witcher Sense and you may examine: ・Wyvern oil on the floor ・Note on the book shelf ・The bomb components on the desk Pick up the note on the chest and read it to continue. You will gain 50 XP. |
18 | Head downstairs. Meet with Triss at the Eternal Fire shrine near the harbor marked on your map around midnight. |
19 | When bringing Triss to the witch hunters it is important to choose the right dialogue choices if you want to get to Menge without violence. The dialogue choices for infiltration are as follows: Wanna talk to Menge > Got something to offer Menge > I'll tell your boss only. If you do not choose the right choices, you will have to kill the Witch Hunters |
20 | Follow the witch hunters. During the dialogue choice tell them Fine, take her. If you choose Fine, but no torture, they will be suspicious. Choosing the dialogue choice Take her will rid suspicion. An Axii dialogue choice is also available with Delusion level 2, it will give 40 XP but will cause you to fight the Witch Hunters. Otherwise you will have to kill the Witch Hunters |
21 | When talking to Menge choose Why not > Haven't been paid > Triss betrayed me > I want Dandelion free. You will receive 300 XP after. If you do not choose the right options or if you ask about the treasure then about Dandelion, he will attack you and you will need to kill him and the witch hunters. Refer to kill the Witch Hunters for more info. |
22 | If you want to leave without fighting, open the door near Triss and leave through there. |
23 | Climb up the roof of the structure in the middle. Fall down to the other side, then use Aard on the loose bricks at the north wall. You will talk to Dijkstra and end the quest. If you asked Dijkstra about the treasure you will need to complete the next objectives to finish the quest. |
24 | After talking to Dijkstra, if you chose to ask about the treasure, you will need to go to the marked location east of Hierarch Square. Use your Witcher Sense and interact with the dropbox located on the south east pillar of the fire shrine. |
25 | Head to the marked house east of Glory Gate at midnight. Get inside and hide behind the door. You will receive 50 XP. |
Objectives | |
---|---|
1 | You will need to get to Menge's office on the second floor. |
2 | There are 3 witch hunters in the courtyard, 6 more on the ground floor, and 5 more outside Menge's office. |
3 | Kill Menge. You will gain 200 XP |
4 | Search Menge's desk. Read the letter found in the desk. Go to objective 23. |
It is recommended to not start any combat and ask about Dandelion rather than the treasure. You will avoid fighting multiple witch hunters and you will gain 100 XP more than if you chose to fight everyone. You will not receive Dijkstra's 1,000 crowns in the quest Brothers in Arms, but this is not a huge deal.
When fighting the witch hunters, it is a good idea to stay in the courtyard and lure the witch hunters to you. The courtyard is much more open, making dodging easier for you.
If you do fight inside, you can lure the witch hunters towards the explosive barrels. Use igni on the barrels and they will explode a few seconds later, dealing enough damage to kill.
