1 | Exit through the marked door to fast travel to Velen. |
2 | Head towards the Inn marked on the map and enter. Talk to the innkeeper. |
3 | During the dialogue with the baron's men, choose the option I'm a Witcher. This will avoid a fight and will help you in the quest Bloody Baron. |
4 | Walk up to the innkeeper and talk to him again. |
5 | He will tell you that Hendrik is located in Heatherton. Leave and head west toward the village marked. |
6 | Once you arrive, you will see a man fighting off 3 rabid dogs. Kill the dogs. |
7 | After your conversation with the villager, head to the marked hut and enter it. |
8 | Examine the dead body and choose the option to check his boots. Then, examine the rug to the right of the corpse. |
9 | Open the trapdoor and go down the ladder. Use your Witcher Sense and examine the only lit candle on the wall to open a hidden chest. |
10 | Examine the chest and exhaust all the dialogue choices until you get and choose the yellow one to finish the quest. |
You can avoid the fight against the Baron's men by choosing the right dialogue choices.
Choosing the option to say Back off or die will initiate a fight with the 3 bandits. After the fight, the innkeeper will let you leave through the back.
If you go back out and exit through the front, there will be 3 more bandits who will attack you.
Choosing the option to say Care for a Drink? will yield the same results as the choice given in the objectives section; however, this will yield more information about the baron.
If you choose the options Not your concern or Wonder what you're doing here, it will start a fight.
The rabid dogs can dodge fairly quickly. Using heavy attacks will make it hard to get hits in on them.
When facing enemies who wield hammers, it is best to just dodge their attacks. It is not possible to parry or counterattack against hammer attacks.
