| 1 | Read the book called Ladies of the Wood. It is in your inventory under quest items. |
| 2 | Go to the start of the trail marked on your map. It is southwest of Downwarren. |
| 3 | Use your Witcher Sense and examine the statue located at the marker. |
| 4 | Using your Witcher Senes, follow the trail of sweets. Some are hanging from the trees and some are on the ground. |
| 5 | Go to the hut to the south and talk to the boy. |
| 6 | Head back outside and talk to the other kids. When the kids ask to play hide and seek, you can choose the option Isn't there something else you want? and Geralt will give them treats to continue. Note: If you agree to play hide and seek you will need to find all the children to continue. Use your Witcher Sense and follow the footprints to each child. |
| 7 | Head east to the marker. You will encounter 2 drowners and a water hag when you get there. Kill them, then look for Johnny's footprints using your Witcher Sense. |
| 8 | Follow the footprints. They will lead you north to a burrow. Interact with it and call Johnny. |
| 9 | Follow Johnny. You will encounter 3 drowners; kill them to continue. Continue following Johnny. |
| 10 | You will need to climb up a hill to a raven's nest. There are 3 harpies you will have to kill. Interact with the nest and pick up the bottle. |
| 11 | Follow Jonnhy back to the village. You will encounter 2 drowners and a water hag, so dispose of them. Continue following Johhny. You will receive 150 Exp. afterward. |
| 12 | Head to the village of Downwarren north of The Orphans of Crookback Bog. Talk to the Ealdorman. |
| 13 | Go to the Whispering Hillock, which is marked on your map to the east of The Orphans of Crookbag Bog. |
| 14 | You must finish the quest The Whispering Hillock to continue. |
| 15 | Talk to the Ealdorman to finish the quest. You will receive 250 exp after. |
To complete this quest, it is required to complete The Whispering Hillock. During this quest, the player has to make a difficult decision that will affect the fate of the Strenger couple.

The Whispering Hillock Walkthrough and Best Choice
If you successfully hit a Harpy with either the Aard Sign or your crossbow, they will fall to the ground.
When the Harpy has been knocked to the ground, there is a small window to perform an execution prompted by the assigned button. Doing the execution will instantly kill the target.
