1 | Head to the back of the pellar's hut, which is to the east. Use your Witcher Sense to find the hoofprints. |
2 | Follow the hoofprints east. Ringing the bell will make the goat bleat. Use your Witcher Sense at the same time as the bell and the goat will be marked with red sound waves. You will also see 4 more soundwaves made by wolves. Kill them now so they will not be a problem later. |
3 | Once you get near the goat, ring the bell and the goat will follow you. |
4 | Head back to the pellar. The goat will occasionally stop to eat; ring the bell to get it to continue following you. |
5 | The goat will go off on its own; follow it. |
6 | The goat will stop to eat and a bear will appear. Protect the goat and kill the bear. |
7 | Get the goat to follow you back to the pellar and finish the quest. |
The bear is big and slow. Try to get behind it and stay behind it. Using fast attacks help, as it will keep you mobile.
Quen can help by blocking any of the heavy slow attacks that do end up hitting you. Yrden can slow down the bear even more.
You can fight and kill the bear even before finding the goat. Find the cave east of the pellar's house. Inside rests the bear. Kill it and the goat will not be in danger later on.
