What Does the Luck Stat Do?

Affects Resistance to Status Effects and Critical Hit Rate

The Luck stat influences how often the Hero avoids status ailments, and may also play a minor role in determining critical hit frequency during combat.

While not as directly impactful as HP or Attack, a higher Luck value can make your Hero more reliable in longer battles where status effects can quickly turn the tide.

Level Up

Luck increases naturally as you level up. While the gains per level are modest, it still contributes to your Hero’s consistency in resisting enemy debuffs and landing critical strikes.

Use Seeds of Luck

While Seeds of Luck have not been officially confirmed in DQ1 HD-2D Remake, they’ve appeared in past Dragon Quest titles as rare consumables that permanently raise the Luck stat.

If these items return, using them on the Hero could slightly improve survivability and increase the odds of resisting dangerous status conditions during boss fights.
