Tantegel, Cantlin, and Mini Medal Citadel

Bank
Dragon Quest 1 has three bank locations located in Tantegel, Cantlin, and the Citadel of the Monarch of Medals. Originally, there were only two locations, but the HD-2D Remake added another location at the Mini Medal Citadel.

What Are Banks?

Place to Deposit and Save Gold

Banks are used to deposit your gold for safekeeping. This is so that you don't lose half of your gold if you fall in battle, and you won't have to spend as much farming gold to make up for the amount that you lost.

As a note, you can only deposit Gold in multiples of 100, meaning that you will always have at least 99 Gold in your inventory.

How to Earn Gold Fast

Gold is Shared Between Banks

The gold that you deposited in one bank will appear in all three locations. This way, you don't have to zoom to a specific location just to withdraw money.
