Cursed Equipment in Dragon Quest 1 HD-2D Remake (DQ1) prevents the players from removing it and must be purified at a Church. Find a list of Cursed Equipment, as well as how to remove it in this guide!
List of Contents

When players equip a piece of cursed equipment, they must visit a Church and speak to the priest for a Benediction ritual to get it removed. This will remove the cursed equipment from the equipment slot, and you'll be free to equip non-cursed equipment again.
Churches and Chapels can be found all over the land of Alefgard, and will provide their services readily, though you must pay to have the curse lifted.

If you're willing to travel back to Tantegel town, though, you can receive curse removal for free in exchange for helping the Curse Researcher with his work.
Visit the Curse Researcher behind a locked door (you'll need the Thief's Key to get through) in Tantegel and speak to him to remove any curses you're suffering from for free.

Their curse effects are often too negative to be worth their relatively high stat bonuses, so avoid equipping them at all to save yourself a trip to the Church.
