How to Get the Thief's Key
Go to Galenholm
To get the Thief's Key, you will first need to go to Galenholm, located in the northeast of the map. In this town, you will overhear a swindler who is bragging about the Thief's Key among the town folks.
Before going to the swindler at the Roadside Inn, located south of Galenholm, you'll want to stock up on healing items, upgrade your equipment, and farm levels in preparation for the dungeons and enemies ahead.
Walkthrough Part 1: Tantegel Castle to Craggy Cave
Face Off Against Robbin' 'Ood
Once you get to the Roadside Inn, you'll learn that Robbin' 'Ood stole the Thief's Key, and you'll now need to head to the Craggy Cave to get it. Also, before going to the cave, take the opportunity to rest and recover your HP and MP at the inn.
When you're ready, head to the Craggy Cave to face Robbin' 'Ood and his 'Oodlums. They'll be pretty tanky and are resistant to physical attacks, so use spells like Zap and Sizz to take them down. After beating them, Robbin' 'Ood will ask you to save one of his 'Oodlums in exchange for the Thief's Key
Defeat the Sorcerer
Take some time to recover, and once you're ready, head down to B2 to face the Sorcerer. Make sure to always apply Fizzle on the boss so that they cannot cast spells on you. This way, you can easily take them down since they'll be forced to use physical attacks.
Return to Robbin' 'Ood
Once the Sorcerer's been defeated, you can head back to B1 so that you can talk to Robbin' 'Ood and get the Thief's Key. This will now allow you to unlock any red doors and chests found around the world.
