nevermind, the spear doesn't require a giant core. I could have swore it did.

One other error I see is that you press the A buttone to parry, not the X button. That is unless you can or have changed your button assignments, but it is A by default.

Ancient spears also require a giant ancient core, but you're right that the ancient bladesaw does not. So, the shield, bow, and spear all require 1 giant ancient core per weapon.

The issue with spears though is you have to get the perfect shot because it’s so hard to hit a guardians leg with a spear, I would recommend the ancient swords or axes for cutting its legs off because when you beak it’s leg it gets stunned anyway

Tip: If you want to destroy the legs, just use a guardian spear. They hit fast and instantly break a guardian leg, while a full power master sword needs 2 hits.

It’s also the A button not X to parry

This site is slightly wrong. For the tech lab, Giant Ancient Cores are only used to buy the shield and bow. Bladesaw only requires regular Ancient Cores

Reflecting their beam does damage your shield if you do it without parrying, which is possible with the Ancient Shield. Parrying is what prevents the damage, not reflecting. That is why even with the Ancient Shield parrying pays off as it will allow you to defeat Guardians without weakening your shield. Also early game most shield get destroyed in one hit anyway, so might as well use a Pot Lid. Good guide. The recommended strategies are also what I have found to be the best so far.
