The Flame DoT Battlemage is an AoE burn damage-focused build that easily clears multiple enemies when they get close to you. This setup works as Ring of Flame gets larger and stronger through Amplify the more energy you use with your abilities, namely Doom Horn and Ignite.
This build particularly works great against mobs and it performs decently with bosses, being able to take hits with the durability from the abilities and equipment. The main downside to this is the lack of burst damage and crowd-control, but it makes up for it with the sustained damage it deals to enemies.

The stats shown above is a sample build of what you want to go for when building your character.
Ornate Armor is the best equipment set to use for the Flame DoT Battlemage build because of the resistances it gives you when equipped. You'll ideally want to use this all throughout the game, as most bosses deal elemental damage in their attacks.
Aim to get mostly Fire and Spell Damage, as well as Ailment Power, Ailment Chance, and Increased Damage over Time to boost your Ring of Flame and Ignite. Other general affixes like Energy Regeneration, Health, and Resistances are great to have for more comfort with the build.

The Flame DoT Battlemage has a lot of options when it comes to weapons, but we recommend the Fotia weapon for its affixes that suit the Flame DoT playstyle. It improves Fire Damage and Energy, and it gives Ailment Power and Ailment Chance. Do note that it requires some Knowledge to be equipped.
The Cartouche Ring is also highly recommended as an accessory for the extra Fire Damage, Energy, and max burning stacks it gives you. This can be equipped twice by your character, making it highly optimal for the build.

This build focuses on dealing damage-over-time with Fire Damage, burning enemies the more they get close to you. Your primary sources of damage are Ring of Flame and Ignite, with other active abilities mainly used for buffing Fire Damage.
For passives, focus on getting ones that provide Fire Damage and Ailment Power to maximize your burn. Ailment Power affects your burn caused by your Earth abilities, so you want more of that.
Divinity Allocation
---
Earth ▶ Warfare
Prioritize Earth first, as your main sources of damage, Ring of Flame and Ignite can only be unlocked once you get the mastery to the third tier. Warfare is also mainly supplementary to the build, so you can aim to get it after building Earth first.
Attribute Prioritization
---
Might ▶ Vigor ▶ Knowledge
Might is the best attribute to upgrade because both Earth and Warfare benefit from the secondary attributes that come with it, and it buffs your main damage scaling which is Fire Damage.
For tankiness, get Vigor to a decent amount so you can tank hits from enemies. A good ratio to consider is the 1:2 ratio, investing 1 Vigor for every 2 Might. Lastly, get some Knowledge for Fotia, as it still increases your Fire Damage.
The Flame DoT Battlemage build revolves around dealing continuous damage to enemies with Fire Damage via Ring of Flame and Ignite. Enemies who come close to you get burned by the flames. The rotation is as follows:
