There are three difficulty settings in Titan Quest 2. Find out what are the difficulty settings, their differences and the best setting to play the game on here!
| Difficulty | Description |
|---|---|
| Neophyte | ・For players new to ARPGs ・Easier enemies to deal with ・Level can be adjusted mid-game ・Half Damage and Faster Health Regeneration |
| Normal | ・Balanced Experience ・Enemy difficulty is manageable |
| Hardcore | ・Dying will cause Permanent Death ・All gear is lost after death |

If you're new to the genre of ARPG, you can start off using Neophyte. On this setting, damage taken is halved and health regenerates faster. You can keep using this until you are comfortable and ready to take on Normal Mode.

Normal Mode is the ideal way to play the game. This lets you experience the game as intended, balancing enemy difficulty with the story as you progress.

For players looking for a challenge, take on Hardcore. In this setting, you get no second chances, once your character dies, they are permanently deceased and will no longer be playable.

After reaching the Pyrgos Village, if you are ready to take on the game without training wheels. Go to the Ritual Shrine and use the Ritual of Athena to upgrade your difficulty from Neophyte to Normal.
Take note that this decision is final and cannot be reversed, so make sure that you are ready before you do this.
On A Strange Shore Quest Walkthrough

Using the Ritual of Ares you can increase or decrease the difficulty level of enemies in the Ritual Shrine. Every level you adjust will need to be paid for in gold.
You can also raise the minimum level of all enemies using Ritual of Ares. This adjusts all enemies, in all areas, to your current level.
