Titan Quest 2 - Death Penalty Explained

When you die in-game, a Death Penalty is applied to your character depending on the difficulty of your game in Titan Quest 2. Discover the details of Death Penalties and what happens after death here!

Death Penalty Explained

Get a 1% EXP Penalty in Normal Mode

When you die in normal mode, you will get a 1% EXP penalty. This 1% will based on the total EXP that you need to reach the next level.

You Get Perma-Death in Hard Mode

In Hard mode there are no second chances. If you die during your run, your character will be permanently dead and marked as deceased in your character list on the main menu.

What Happens After Death?

Revive in a Settlement

Titan Quest 2 - Revive in a Settlement
If you are playing in Normal mode, after you die you will be revived in a settlement. Other than the EXP penalty, there are no major penalties from dying. To go back to your previous location, go to a waypoint and select your Recovery Portal.
