Invading Terrors - Tips and Strategy Guide

Invading Terrors is quite a hard Challenge to finish. Considering the number of enemies you have to defeat as well as how far apart they are on the map, it is very easy to run out of time. Here are some tips and tricks to make it a little bit easier to finish!

Use an Efficient Route

It is very easy to run out of time for this challenge because the map is quite large and the enemies are far apart. It is important to know where new enemies will spawn and how efficiently you should tackle each one.

Always Go Clockwise

We suggest always going clockwise when picking enemies one by one. This way there is less time for you traversing the map than defeating enemies. Always make sure that you spend more time defeating targets than traversing the map.

Also, the Guardians Scouts will eventually track you around the map. You can opt to ignore them and let them come to you especially when they are off the efficient route!

Ignore the Lesser Monsters

Do not pay attention to the Bokoblins and Lizalfoses on the map! Just focus on defeating the Powerful Foes to save time!

Take on the Malice Guardian Last

Malice Guardian Spawn

In the end, a Malice Guardian appears but it spawns at a very awkward place and way off the efficient route. Pay no attention to it until it is the last foe you have to defeat!

Overlevel Mipha

Mipha Upgraded Combo

We suggest to overlevel Mipha for this challenge as well as improve her combos. Her combo, when fully upgraded, can open up the Weak-Point Gauge for attacks. Use this to defeat enemies faster.

Also, be sure to know how to use Flurry Rush and Elemental Rods! It is raining in this challenge so lightning rods are especially useful!

Only Use Mipha's Special-Attack on the Malice Guardian

The Malice Guardian at the end will be the hardest one to defeat in this challenge. If you do not need the heal from Mipha's Special-Attack, save it for spamming it all onto the Malice Guardian.

Use Cooking

Cooking for Attack

We suggest using cooking recipes that increases Attack. Once you have unlocked three Cooking slots, you can cook Meat Pie, Spicy Pepper Steak, and Salt-Grilled Gourmet Meat to increase your Damage up to +32%.

Use Two-Player Mode

Split Screen

Do not forget that Age of Calamity has a two-player mode! This method allows you to use another character of your choice especially if you are having trouble using Mipha. Since the majority of enemies in this challenge are Guardians, we suggest using Link or Urbosa so you can parry the beams!

Take note however, that this requires that you have another controller for your Nintendo Switch but you can always use both joy-cons.

Also, in contrast with single-player, the character you are not using will remain idle and not attack anything. Be sure to check on the idle character from time to time and defeat enemies near them to keep them safe!

How to Play Multiplayer

Set the Difficulty to Easy

Easy Mode
If you are really stuck and at the end of your wits, we suggest toning down the difficulty to Easy. Enemies are faster to defeat in this difficulty so the problem with the time constraint may be solved.

Of course, you can always change the difficulty back afterward!
