Objectives

Objectives
1 Mow your way to the citadel with Vah Ruta. Upon reaching the fork, you can choose between a shorter path to the left or a longer path to the right, with the latter being safer.
We recommend going left since its easier than you thought. Just remember to maximize Ruta's melee attack (Y) and special attack (A), as well as the intercept command (L).
2 Capturing outposts.jpg
Split up and capture the 3 marked outposts on your map. Vah Ruta will provide support against the Guardians on your way north.
3 Have Mipha heal the Hylian Captain on one of the outposts to proceed.
4 Fire Guardian.jpg
Head to the citadel and destroy the Fire Guardian guarding the gate.
5 Aid the Hylian Captain inside by defeating the Silver Moblin.
6 Mipha healing.jpg
Have Mipha heal the Hylian Captain and 3 more captains on the upper floors.
7 Go further upstairs to where Robbie is. He will open the door for you once you arrive.
8 Defeat the Malice Guardian as well as the marked enemies approaching the citadel.
Strong enemies will appear one after another so prepare for a grueling battle.
9 Head to the east end of the bridge to proceed.

Jump off the bridge and finish off the remaining Malice Guardians to finish the battle.

How to Beat the Malice Guardian

Dodge the Beams

Dodging beams.jpg

You'd be better off dodging the beams than trying to parry them (if you have a shield, that is). When the Guardian's eye glows, quickly dodge to either side to avoid the attack.

You can also use abilities with iframes such as Impa's YYX combo or just the Remote Bomb rune.

Follow Rune Prompts

Again, follow the rune prompts to interrupt its attacks and expose its weak-point gauge. Keep an eye out for these prompts especially during the first encounter where you'll have a hard time dodging due to the size of the room.

Name Button Show Names
This button reveals the Name of every icon currently shown.
Show Pins Button Show Pins
This button will toggle between showing and hiding all the pins that you have already marked as acquired.
Full Button Fullscreen
This button will change the map display to fill the screen.
Search Button Search Mode Toggle
This button will display a search bar which you can use to search for an individual pin by its name.
Icon Mode Button Icon Mode Toggle
In Search Mode, this button will toggle you back to Icon Mode, removing the search bar and displaying the icons again.
All Pins Button All Pins
This button is shown along with the Icons on the right when there are over 6 types of pins. Click it for a full selection of all available pin types.
Interactive Map Counter Counter
Tracks the number of pins you have of a certain type. The pin type shown is set to the page and currently cannot be changed; however, all pin type counters can be viewed by clicking the checklist icon on the right side.

This icon is found on the right side of the Counter. When a map has more than one pin type, click this icon to see Counters for all pin types.
