Find the Royal Guard Uniform in Hyrule Castle Hallways

Objectives Guide

Head to Hyrule Castle Library
Head to the Hyrule Castle Library. You can get there easily from the shrine by heading up the cave path up to the library hall behind a moveable bookcase.
Nearest Shrine:
Saas Ko'sah Shrine

Head up the Second Level
Head up to the second level of the Library hall. You can get up there by using Revali's Gale or using the metal blocks to scale up the wall.

Head Up Another Level
Head into the room with a lone Moblin and climb the stairs to head up the upper hallways.

Destroy the Breakable Wall
Head to the very end of the upper hallway and destroy the breakable wall on the left side using a Remote Bomb.

Open the Chest
Open the EX Chest to receive the Royal Guard's Uniform.

Find the Royal Guard Boots in the Guard's Chamber in Hyrule Castle

Head to Hyrule Castle Guard Chambers

Guard Chambers Entrance
Head to the Hyrule Castle Guard Chambers. You can get there by entering Hyrule Castle's main entrance and heading into the first entrance you see,

Head Down the Stairs
A Lizalfos is guarding the stairs down the Guard Chambers. Defeat or run past it and head down.

Find the EX Chest

EX Chest Location
As soon as you enter the chambers, head to the right with the Lizalfos.
They are actually guarding the EX Chest. Defeat the Lizalfos or use Majora's Mask so that they don't attack you.

Open the Chest
Open the chest to receive the Royal Guard Boots.

Find the Royal Cap in the Second Floor of Hyrule Castle's Sanctum

Head to the Hyrule Castle Sanctum
Head to Hyrule Castle's Sanctum area. Note: Don't enter the actual sanctum as it will trigger the final boss. The EX chest is actually on the Second Floor of the Sanctum.
Nearest Shrine:
Saas Ko'sah Shrine

Climb up the Second Floor
Climb up to the second floor of the sanctum. Alternatively, you can use Revali's Gale to reach the second floor Sanctum.
Enter the Second Floor Sanctum The second floor of the Sanctum is filled with corrupted Sheikah wires and Malice. Head to the opposite side of the room wihere the EX Chest is sitting in front of a Knight's Statue.

Open the Chest
Open the chest to receive the Royal Guard Cap.

EX Treasure: Royal Guard Rumors Rewards

BOTW - EX Royal Guard Rumors  Reward
Collecting all three pieces nets you the Royal Guard Set. While it's arguably one of the more visually appealing sets in the game, it only provides medicore defense and cannot be enhanced or dyed.
BOTW - EX Royal Guard Rumors Showcase
Wearing all pieces of the set gives Link a bonus to his Charge Attacks. It's a good armor to use early in the game, especially if you find yourself surrounded by many enemies.

Quest Start Rumor has it there's a tool that allows you to instantly travel to wherever you've placed it.
Apparently South Akkala Stable has a copy of Super Rumor Mill EX, which details some rumors about this rare item...
1st Update You read Super Rumor Mill EX: Volume 2! According to this special issue, there are rumors of an item that lets you instantly travel to a location of your choosing.
The treasure chest containing this item is supposedly located in northeast Akkala, hidden beneath a labyrinth.
If you believe the rumors, try to find the labyrinth and locate the treasure chest!
Quest Clear You managed to reach Lomei Labyrinth Island and found the Travel Medallion in a secret underground room!
Just as the rumors said, the Travel Medallion lets you travel instantly to whatever location you've placed it at.
It seems believing those rumors paid off!
