You can use magic sealing to turn a demon into your ally by approaching the demon and tapping or holding and tapping down the RT + B on Xbox, R2 + circle on PS5, and Shift + R on PC.

To make confinement easier, change the setting from Tap to Hold under Art of Confinement Controls in the Game tab. This lets you hold the button instead of tapping repeatedly.

Cannot Confine High Levelled Demons

Only Lower‑Level Demons Can Be Sealed

You can only confine demons that are equal to or lower than your level. Attempting to confine higher-level demons will consume MAG and is very likely to fail.

Actively Capture Demons That You Have Not Yet Acquired

Be proactive in capturing demons you haven’t acquired yet. Encountering new demons is your chance to expand your roster, so make sure to confine new demons whenever possible.

MAG Is Consumed at the Start

(MAG) Is Consumed at the Start

When you cast confinement, you use up MAG equal to the demon’s level. For example, sealing a level 5 demon costs 5 MAG. If you attempt to confine without enough MAG, the action will automatically cancel, and the action will fail.

Some Demons Are Immune

Some Demons Are Immune

Certain enemies, especially bosses, story demons, or zombies cannot be confined. If you try, you’ll simply fail. Trying to capture such demons will not consume any MAG, it will simply prompt a message saying that such demon cannot be confined.

You Cannot Confine If Raidou’s Tubes Are Full

If all of Raidou’s demon tubes are full, you won’t be able to confine any more demons. Make room by fusing or releasing demons before attempting to seal new ones. Keeping a few empty tubes is always a good idea when exploring new areas.

To increase the number of demon tubes you can carry, you’ll need to raise your Loyalty Rank. As your demons’ total Loyalty grows, Yatagarasu will grant you new titles and expand your tube capacity.

Sometimes, you can automatically obtain items while confining a demon. Using confinement may grant you valuable items while confining the demon.
