Best Ways to Farm Incense

Clear Multiple Aril Rifts

Aril Rift
Every 5 Aril Rifts cleared, talking to the Left Fox Statue at the Nameless Shrine will reward you with some Incense. The rewards given alternate between a set of Strength and Vitality Incense and a set of Magic and Luck Incense.

All 20 Aril Rift Locations

Use Scavenger in the Training Hall

Incense from Training Hall
The Investigation Skill Scavenger lets a Demon randomly pick up an item at your current location. If you do this at the Training Hall, you can randomly get Incense.

As a note, it's recommended to do this with Raidou and the Demon having maxed-out Luck stats. This way, you have a higher chance of picking up an item with Scavenger.

While you're exploring the world, you will occasionally come across sparkling items on the ground. At certain locations, like Ginza-cho or the Training Hall, you can pick up Incense, so make sure that you explore every area for items.

Purchase Village Trainings DLC

Kuzunoha Village Trainings DLC
If you don't mind buying DLC packs, it's recommended to get the Kuzunoha Village Trainings DLC. This unlocks the "Kuzunoha Village Trainings: Indulgences" fight, which lets you farm Incense from Ara Mitamas.

To access this fight, you'll need to unlock the Nameless Shrine, and then you can talk to the Left Fox Statue and select the option to "Earn speciality items at the village".

Best Ways to Farm Grimoires

Clear Multiple Aril Rifts

Aril Rift
Similar to Incense, you will receive Grimoires every 10 Aril Rifts cleared. Again, head to the Nameless Shrine and talk to the Left Fox Statue to receive your rewards, which alternate between Thin Grimoires every 10 rifts, and Thick Grimoires every 20 rifts.

Look for Saki Mitamas in Aril Rifts

Whenever you enter an Aril Rift, there's a chance to encounter a Saki Mitama, who can reward you with EXP items. If you're lucky enough to encounter one, make sure to stun it with Force Skills and Confine it to get a Grimoire.

Purchase Village Trainings DLC

Kuzunoha Village Trainings DLC
If you don't mind buying DLC packs, it's recommended to get the Kuzunoha Village Trainings DLC. This unlocks the "Kuzunoha Village Trainings: Power" fight, which lets you farm EXP items from Saki Mitamas.

Again, to access this fight, you'll need to unlock the Nameless Shrine, and then you can talk to the Left Fox Statue and select the option to "Earn speciality items at the village".

Ma Incense Increases Magic by 1 for 1 ally
Vi Incense Increases Vitality by 1 for 1 ally
Lu Incense Increases Luck by 1 for 1 ally
Thin Grimoire Grants 25% of the EXP required to level up
Thick Grimoire Grants 100% of the EXP required to level up

Incense and Grimoires are Consumable Items that grant Raidou or a Demon bonus EXP and Stats respectively. There are four types of Incense, one for each stat, and two types of Grimoire, one that gives 25% of a level and one that gives a full level.
