Eir is an attacker/debuffer who shares some similarities with Primavera, one of the most reliable units in the game, because they're both units that inflict game-changing debuffs and also benefit from SPD buffs. However, while Primavera is known for her team-wide buffs and targeted Fainted debuff, Eir thrives on putting her opponents to sleep, making them bleed, and decreasing their CRIT Res stat. Sleep will disable opponents until they're attacked, bleed will deal some damage, and the CRIT Res debuff will make it more likely for Eir's teammates to deal big crit damage.

Eir is also quite well-rounded, as she has a shield to help her survivability for defense, and she also packs a mean punch with high ATK% skills and buffs to her ATK and SPD.

Eir Strengths and Weaknesses

Eir Skill Analysis

Tranquilizing Dart

This skill neutralizes the threats directly in front of Eir along with a unit beside her by putting them to sleep and leaving them vulnerable to critical strikes the next time they are hit. On top of that, this skill also deals some pretty good damage, provided that Eir has been leveled up to 161 or higher, as well as having her gear upgraded. In short, this is a strong targeted attack with the added benefit of having a high chance to immobilize them with Sleep, as well as making it more likely that they receive crit damage the next time they're attacked.

While this skill is quite strong, it's definitely not perfect. This skill depends on positioning, so if you're about to fight an Eir, make sure you place units of less importance in the cone in front of Eir. Doing this keeps your key units safe from Eir's damage and debuffs. Moreover, this skill is quite difficult to take full advantage of, as Eir is a slower unit without her SPD buffs and the units that could take advantage of the CRIT Res debuffs to the fullest are often faster than her like Cordie and Florence.

Silver Weaver

Silver Weaver	Level 1 (Unlocks by level 21) Activates when there is 1 or more enemy afflicted with an effect from an action hindering debuff. Deals 1 physical attack equal to 480% of Eir’s ATK to all enemies afflicted with effects from action hindering debuffs (5 targets max) (if there are more than 5 targets, 5 out of those targets will be selected at random). If Eir does not fulfill the activation requirement, she instead deals 1 basic attack.
	Level 2 (Unlocks by level 41) Additionally inflicts ［Bleed］ on all targets for 1 turn. Each turn, at the start of the action phase, ［Bleed］ deals damage equal to 50% of Eir’s ATK.
	Level 3 (Unlocks by level 121) The physical attack becomes guaranteed to hit.
	Level 4 (Unlocks by level 181) The physical attack’s damage becomes equal to 880% of her ATK.

Silver Weaver is another skill that deals huge damage when upgraded. It targets all opponents with action-hindering debuffs, as well as inflicts Bleed on them for another chunk of damage at the start of the turn. This skill blasts enemies afflicted with action-hindering debuffs.

Use characters like Merlyn and Fenrir to cleanse your important characters of action-hindering debuffs to be safe from Silver Weaver's damage. Better yet, use Nina to reflect whatever debuffs are hurled at her.

Eir Hard Counters

Luke

Luke is a hard counter to Eir mainly for two things. The first is that she has the ability to bypass and dispel shields, which Eir relies on for survivability. She'll burst Eir down with even more damage whenever she does, as her Knight’s Honor skill deals 1.5x its damage to targets with shields. The next is that she has innate CRIT Res of up to 60%, neutralizing the CRIT Res debuff from Eir's Tranquilizing Dart ability, with 10% more CRIT Res to spare. Luke's kit is perfect for dealing with Eir both offensively and defensively.

Nina

Nina is always good against enemies with strong debuffs as she can reflect them back at whoever casts them. She'll do just that against Eir, while also having the ability to dispel and steal Eir's shield to open up her defenses while using the shield for herself. Like in the case of many other buffers and debuffers, Nina is a terrible matchup to go against.

Cordie

Cordie is immune to action-hindering debuffs (or debuffs entirely when upgraded), which makes her completely safe against Eir's Silver Weaver nuke. When positioned away from Eir, Cordie does not have to worry about Eir's damage or debuffs at all.

Cordie, Nina, and Merlyn will be nigh impossible to afflict with action-hindering debuffs thanks to their cleanses and immunity (in Cordie's case specifically). Merlyn will protect Florence with her cleanse, while Primavera is a support that provides great value in almost any team comp. This team will deal huge damage thanks to buffed attacks from Cordie and Florence, while having their own ability to inflict strong debuffs on their opponents thanks to Primavera's Fainted debuff and whatever status effect Nina can reflect back.

Witches Not To Use Against Eir

Florence

Squishy DPS characters like Florence are at risk of getting bursted down by Eir's targeted high-damage skills. The catch is that it's rather easy to eliminate that risk, as you'll only need to make sure you don't place them in the cone in front of Eir, as well as provide them with some sort of protection against action-hindering debuffs. Do this and you'll completely avoid having your squishy DPS die to Eir's damage.

Tips for Beating Eir

Use Eir's Targeting To Your Advantage

Eir is a threat to those directly in front of her, as well as those afflicted with action-hindering debuffs. Definitely avoid placing your squishy damage dealers in front of Eir, as well as protect them from debuffs to keep them safe from Eir's high damage. Alternatively, you could place a witch like Soltina in front of her to negate the damage with Soltina's barrier or face her off against Nina who will reflect the debuff back at Eir.

Have Cleansers To Protect Yourself Against Action-Hindering Debuffs

Eir will burst down all with action-hindering debuffs, as well as inflict them with Bleed. You'll want to avoid this if you want to counter Eir. Use witches with cleansing abilities like Merlyn, Fenrir, and Priscilla to beat Eir.

Make Her Miss With EVD or Use Your Own Action-Hindering Debuffs

Eir has trouble dealing with EVD as she doesn't always get kitted with ACC runes, nor does she have any built-in accuracy buffs other than her guaranteed hit against all units with action-hindering debuffs. She'll struggle against evasion units like Dian and Nina as long as they're not immobilized. She's also weak to being immobilized as well, so look to use these flaws in her kit to your advantage.
