Yuni is a defensive support healer who focuses on keeping her team's main attacker healed up and clear of debuffs. She also increases their Max HP, increasing their longevity in battle, and she also has DEF and CRIT RES self-buffs that help keep her alive too.

However, she is unable to cleanse her own debuffs, making her vulnerable to movement-hindering debuffs like Faint and Sleep. She also lacks her own offensive power and any abilities to counter enemy attacks.

Insight as a Healer

Yuni's first and second active skills are essentially healing spells with debuff cleansing, though the first skill (Sylph's Whirlwind) heals her team's main attacker, while the second skill (Unicorn's Breeze) heals the ally with the lowest HP. Both skills also keep those allies clear of debuffs.

Meanwhile, the first passive skill (Insight as a Healer) increases the Max HP of the main attacker in her team and the ally with the lowest HP. This lasts from the 2nd turn until the 10th turn, making her good to pair with witches like Fia and other witches who become more effective the more damage they get/the longer they last in battle.

DEF and CRIT RES Self-Buffs

Bouquet of Thanks

To help Yuni stay in battle for the longest amount of time possible, she can buff her own DEF and CRIT RES by up to 50% with her second passive skill, "Bouquet of Thanks."

This skill also enhances her healing for the two allies next to her in battle by 20%. So if your main attacker is right next to her, they would receive more healing (another reason why Yuni is great to place next to Fia).

While Yuni can help her allies avoid debuffs by cleansing them, she cannot help herself if she's the one inflicted with a debuff. Lea, Sabrina, Soltina, and Primavera can all inflict [Fainted], which is one of the best action-hindering debuffs in the game, and completely immobilize Yuni for a few turns. To make sure it doesn't get cleansed, you'd want to position your units to hit Yuni with the debuff.

Chiffon

Similar to the first group of witches, Eir and Chiffon also possess a powerful debuff, which is [Sleep]. Although not as potent as [Fainted], when Yuni is put to sleep and isn't woken up by an attack, she skips her turn, which often would have resulted in a heal. Similarly to the witches who can inflict [Fainted], make sure you target Yuni by positioning your units properly to lower the chances of it getting cleansed on a different unit.

Cordie and Mimi will be the team's main and secondary DPS units respectively. Their power will be enhanced by Merlyn and Primavera's buffs. Mimi can inflict [Resonance] on the characters with the lowest and highest DEF, and make them share 50% of the damage each one receives. This is something that Yuni cannot cleanse. Cordie will deal loads of damage with crits, high DEF Break, DEF shred, and multi-target high-damage attacks. Merlyn will cleanse Cordie of debuffs, while Soltina and Primavera inflict their own action-hindering debuffs.

Other support characters like Moddey and Amour with their [Blight], Nina, and Dian can take the places of Mimi, Soltina, and Primavera, depending on which other witches the Yuni you're facing is allied with.

Rusalka and Cordie lead the team, with Rusalka each of these two possessing good amounts of DEF Break and high damage. Rusalka's passive revival and multi-barrier as well as Nina's evasion, Fia's tankiness and buffs, all help make the team very tough to deal with. Nina will do her thing and be a nuisance who reflects debuffs and steals buffs while Merlyn buffs her allies' offensive capabilities and protects them from debuffs. Finally, Fia will take over the late game and explode for very great damage while withstanding and healing through all the damage she takes.

While debuffers are considered strong counters to Yuni because of their debuffs, it should be worth noting that Yuni's debuff cleansing abilities for allies are very good. Yuni herself is weak to debuffs, but she can cleanse up to 2 debuffs from her allies at a time, while others can usually only cleanse one, if any at all. That said, try to position your debuffers to hit Yuni with their abilities. Plan ahead and try to analyze how your debuffs will work to avoid having them wasted entirely.

DPS units who rely on crits to succeed may struggle against Yuni's high CRIT Res. However, these units can still be fielded against compositions with Yuni, as she's only a support unit, and carries are often the key targets in a battle.

Tips for Beating Yuni

Exploit Her Vulnerability To Debuffs

While Yuni can cleanse her allies of debuffs, this is something she can't do for herself. Strong action-hindering debuffs like [Fainted] can completely put Yuni out of commission for a while.

Use DEF Break to Counter Her High DEF

Yuni buffs her own DEF and CRIT Res, which makes her quite tanky for a support unit. To get through this, stock up on DEF Break runes, and use characters with high DEF Break like Cordie and Rusalka.

Take Out Her Allies With Burst Damage

Yuni is a unit who depends on her other characters to win. In a 1v1 against Yuni, you're very likely to win as she doesn't have many offensive options. That said, try to take out her key allies with high burst damage before Yuni can heal them back to a healthy state.
