This is a guide on where to farm Lynel materials in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. In addition to the best missions for farming Lynels, you can find out how to beat Lynels, and see all materials dropped by them.
List of Contents
This mission includes one Lynel to defeat on a linear map. You must defeat a few Moblins along the way before facing the powerful foe.
An alternative for this mission is Innkeeper's Request since it has the same enemy lineup and objective.
Cross the Hebra Mountains Challenge Walkthrough
A Show of Strength requires you to defeat a Lynel and a Hinox within the time limit. No other enemies will appear on the battlefield, making it a viable option if you only want to farm for Lynel and Hinox materials.
A similar challenge called Stronger Yet requires you to defeat two Hinox and a Blue-Maned Lynel in under six minutes.
A Show of Strength Challenge Walkthrough
Anti-Element Training requires you to defeat a Fire Hinox, an Electric Lynel, and an Ice Lynel that are guarding three outposts scattered across the map.
Another mission with two Lynels is Escorting the Injured. This challenge requires you to play as Sidon as you escort an injured Zora Captain to the targeted position.

Some of the Lynel's attacks can be interrupted with runes. Keep an eye out for prompts and use the indicated rune to stagger the Lynel before dishing out damage.
This will quickly deplete its weak-point gauge so repeat the process until you can perform a Weak-Point Smash and deal massive damage.
How to Perform a Weak-Point Smash
Stay away from the Lynel when it roars, as it will be followed by a fire blast. Take note that the roar will also indicate how wide the blast radius is so you'll know how far you should be from the Lynel during the attack.
The key to taking down lynels is to whittle down their weak point meter as quickly as possible. While runes are a sure way to do this, so is using Special Abilities, which will always stun them, allowing you to chip down on their weak point meter. This is especially useful if their weak point meter is almost depleted.
How to Perform a Weak-Point Smash
Like Special Attacks, Rods are a great way to stun lynels, leaving them open for an attack on their weak point meter. Furthermore, depending on where the lynel is standing, one blast from a rod can allow you to destroy their entire meter.
If a lynel is standing on grass, you should use a fire rod, and if they are in water, use either an ice rod or lightning rod. You can also use a lightning rod if they are near a metal crate, which will allow you to do tons of damage.
