| Kill Keira and Take the Notes | ・Keira will not be available during the main quest, The Battle of Kaer Morhen. |
At the end of the series of secondary quests from Keira Metz called For the Advancement of Learning, you'll find out she plans on bringing Alexander's notes to Radovid in hopes of improving her status and fortune. However, this does not bode well with Geralt since Radovid will surely use the notes to gain an advantage in the war through the use of the Catriona plague.
During the quest, you'll be given several choices on how to handle the situation. You can either let Keira push through with her plan to go to Radovid, talk her out of it and invite her to Kaer Morhen, or forcefully take the notes from Keira in a fight to the death.
Be sure to save before talking to Keira, you will need to be careful with what you say during the conversation since you may not get what you want and end up killing her instead.
For the Advancement of Learning Walkthrough And Best Choice

The best choice is to convince Keira to go to Kaer Morhen instead of going to Radovid, this makes her available during the big fight later on in the story at The Battle of Kaer Morhen. Morally, this also stops Keira from doing something bad in a bid of desperation.
To do this, make sure to choose words that are not aggressive and forceful. For example, you can go with the following series of responses:
The option to tell her to go to Kaer Morhen only becomes available after you get her to admit her problems which is that she needs money and status. There are other ways to get to this point but be extra careful with your words.

Keira going to Radovid spells the end for her as you later find out in the main quest, A Final Kindness, which is only unlocked if you let her go to Radovid or not do the quest at all. This also means Keira won't be among your allies during The Battle of Kaer Morhen.
If you want to go for this route, simply show disinterest in whatever her plan is during the conversation through dialogue options such as "do what you want". Don't try to stop her or you might end up killing her yourself.

If you try and forcefully take the notes away from Keira or stop her from pushing through with her plan, you'll end up fighting her on the spot. This outcome is probably the worst since she won't be there for the big battle and you end up killing a potential ally who is just desperate.
