Combat Strategies

Warriors of the Wild Hunt

You will only battle these enemies as Ciri in this quest. You do not need to kill every single warrior, as they will spawn infinitely. It is better to rush through them and get to Caranthir.

Hounds of the Wild Hunt

• When using Ciri, you do not need to kill every hound as they will also spawn infinitely. It is better to rush through them and get to Caranthir.
• As Geralt, coat your Silver Sword with Elementa Oil to deal bonus damage to them.
• Cast the Igni Sign to burn them and give yourself an opening to attack.

Caranthir

Phase 1

During the first phase against Caranthir, you will be using Ciri in battle. This first phase will be fairly easy since Ciri has powered up so much throughout the game.

• Use your charge attack to close the gap between you and Caranthir.
• You can also use your fast attacks to close in on him and keep attacking since you can easily catch up with him if he teleports away.

Phase 2

The second phase of Caranthir will be a bit trickier since you do not have the mobility of Ciri.

• Cast the Quen Sign to keep youself safe from his powerful ranged attacks.
• Coat your Silver Sword with Elementa Oil to deal bonus damage to both Caranthir and his Ice Elementals.
• If you keep your distance from Caranthir, he will spawn Ice Elementals far from where he is standing. When he does this, you can rush Caranthir down while ignoring the Ice Elementals.

Eredin

Phase 1

During the first phase of Eredin's fight, he will teleport and attack you constantly. While this is happening, do not use the Igni sign yet because he will regain his frost armor every time he teleports.

• After Eredin finishes his teleport and attack combo, start your own combo by using Igni first to remove his frost armor before attacking.
• Coat your Silver Sword with Elementa Oil to deal bonus damage to him.
• Eredin attacks and teleports a random number of times. When you see an opening to attack, cast the Igni Sign and start your attack combo.

Phase 2

During this second phase Eredin will focus more on using ranged attacks rather than teleporting and attacking you. By doing this he gives a lot of openings to attack as long as you can close the gap between the two of you.

When you defeat Eredin during this phase, follow him, as he will teleport back to the ship with the little HP he has.

• When you are able to close the gap between the two of you, wait for an opening to attack, cast the Igni Sign, and start your attack combo.
• Cast the Quen Sign to protect yourself from the ranged attacks.
• If you keep a certain distance from Eredin, you can stay in the middle of his ranged attack and you will not get hit.
