Strategy
As with the spineglider, the key to hunting the venomglider is destroying its footholds. However, this kemono also has various attacks that throw poison all around creating toxic pools, so you'll need to be especially deft in your hunting. When dodging, try to consider what position you'll end up in to minimize the impact the beast's toxins have on you.

How to Beat Venomglider

Venomglider Tips and Strategies

Target the Venomglider's Body and Tail

Wild Hearts - Target the Venomglider
Like the Spineglider, the Venomglider's weakest part is its body, so prioritize dealing damage to this area as often as possible, especially after knocking it down. We also recommend targeting its tail when enraged, as it becomes more vulnerable to damage while in this state.

Avoid the Kemono's Toxic Attacks

Wild Hearts - Avoid the Kemono
The Venomglider has plenty of moves that rapidly build the Poison debuff and cause toxic fumes to linger in the area. Avoid getting hit by these attacks as much as possible, and quickly reposition away from poisonous fumes using Spring Karakuri.

Break the Venomglider's Footholds

Wild Hearts - Break the Venomglider
Similar to the Spineglider, the Venomglider can fire a jet of poisonous fluid to conjure stone spires, which it can use as footholds to launch heavy-hitting moves from above. We recommend breaking these footholds as soon as possible to prevent the Venomglider from using some of its deadliest attacks.

In addition, breaking these stone spires as the Venomglider climbs or perches on them staggers the kemono momentarily, leaving it open to easy damage.

Use Torch, Pounder, and Chain Trap Karakuri

Wild Hearts - Use Torch, Pounder, and Chain Trap Karakuri
When hunting the Venomglider, we recommend heavy usage of the Torch, Pounder, and Chain Trap Karakuri.

  • The Torch Karakuri imbues your weapons with Fire, one of the Venomglider's elemental weaknesses, making it easier to deal with the kemono.
  • The Pounder Karakuri, created by stacking three Spring Karakuri, instantly destroys the Venomglider's footholds while dealing heavy damage on hit.
  • The Chain Trap Karakuri can hold the Venomglider in place, allowing you to deal massive damage while the kemono is trapped.

Venomglider Attacks and Moves

Name Description
Horn Tackle The Venomglider lowers its head before quickly tackling the hunter with its horn.
Toxic Stone Volley The Venomglider leaps in the air before launching two barrages of poison-filled stones toward the hunter.
Foothold Creation The Venomglider fills up its tail with poisonous fluid before releasing it to create a stone spire it can use as a foothold.
Tail Attacks The Venomglider whips its large tail around during combat to send hunters flying.
Stone Foothold Attacks The Venomglider can launch off its stone footholds to land a variety of deadly and poisonous attacks.
Enraged Attacks While enraged, the Venomglider enlarges its tail and gains access to a variety of devastating attacks.

Horn Tackle

Horn Tackle Attack Information
Horn Tackle: The Venomglider lowers its head before quickly tackling the hunter with its horn, dealing light damage on hit. This move has a subtle tell and comes out quite fast, so stay alert whenever it occurs and quickly evade sideways to avoid getting hit.

Toxic Stone Volley

Toxic Stone Volley Attack Information
Toxic Stone Volley: The Venomglider leaps in the air before launching two barrages of poison-filled stones toward the hunter, dealing moderate damage on hit and causing toxic fumes to linger around the impact zone.

Take note of this attack's unique animation and evade sideways out of each barrage's path to avoid getting hit.

Foothold Creation

Foothold Creation Attack Information
Foothold Creation: The Venomglider fills up its tail with poisonous fluid before releasing it to create a stone spire it can use as a foothold during combat. To deal with this attack, dodge sideways out of the liquid stream's path and deal as much damage to the Venomglider while it finishes building its foothold.

Tail Attacks

Tail Attack Variations
Tail Sweep: The Venomglider positions its tail to one side before rapidly sweeping it around, knocking nearby hunters away and dealing moderate damage. This move can come out quite quickly, so keep an eye on the Venomglider's tail and evade away from its body when it occurs.

While enraged, the Venomglider can follow this attack with two heavy tail slams, so stay alert for this follow-up whenever it occurs.
Leaping Tail Spin: The Venomglider twists its body to one side before leaping through the air, forcefully spinning around four times to hit the hunter with its tail. To deal with this attack, you should watch for when the kemono twists its body before dodging past each tail spin to avoid getting hurt.

Stone Foothold Attacks

Stone Foothold Attack Variations
Toxic Foothold Glide: The Venomglider launches off one of its stone footholds to glide toward the hunter, raining down toxic secretions as it moves through the air. To deal with this attack, quickly evade sideways out of the Venomglider's path and reposition out of the poison-inducing area with a Spring Karakuri.
Foothold Tail Slam: The Venomglider can launch off one of its footholds to slam its massive tail on unsuspecting hunters, dealing heavy damage on hit. Quickly sideways out of the tail's impact zone to avoid getting hurt by this attack.
Foothold Tail Spin: The Venomglider can jump off one of its stone footholds to perform an extended Leaping Tail Spin while moving toward the hunter. Sprint and dodge away from the kemono's trajectory or quickly reposition using a Spring Karakuri to deal with this attack.
Toxic Fluid Volley: While enraged, the Venomglider perches on one of its footholds before releasing three large volleys of poisonous fluid from its tail, dealing heavy damage and causing Poison build-up on contact.

To deal with this attack, take cover behind structures or Bulwark Karakuri to avoid the incoming fluid barrage, or evade away from each volley by using a Spring Katakuri.

Enraged Attacks

Enraged Attack Variations
Poisonous Stone Quake: When the Venomglider becomes enraged, it releases a jet of toxic fluid and causes a ring of stone spires to erupt around it, dealing moderate damage and knocking hunters back. Quickly evade backward or use a Spring Karakuri to reposition away from the kemono while it performs this attack.
Expanded Tail Bounce: Like the Spineglider, the Venomglider fills its tail with toxic fluid while enraged, transforming it into a massive ball-like shape. The kemono then bounces on its tail numerous times while moving toward the hunter, attempting to crush them beneath it.

This attack can cover plenty of distance and deals massive damage on hit, so we recommend using a Spring Karakuri or evading away from each bounce right before it lands to avoid getting hit.
Toxic Tail Explosion: While enraged, the Venomglider fills its tail with toxic fluid, bouncing on its bulbous form before releasing a massive poisonous explosion.

To deal with this attack, quickly sprint away from the Venomglider to avoid the explosion's radius, then close the gap to deal damage while the kemono leaves itself open.
