How to Tame Creatures

Catch Creatures

Wild Hearts - Catch Creatures

A Hunter about to catch a Glowstar Snail

Creatures can easily be captured by getting close enough to interact with them. Some creatures will stay still, while others may run. So be sure to sneak and approach them from behind in times when you aren't sure of how they'll react to your presence.

Construct a Wildlife Cage or Pen Karakuri

Wild Hearts - A Hunter placing a Wildlife Cage inside his room

Wildlife cages and pens can be placed just like any other Dragon Karakuri. Cages are meant for holding smaller creatures, such as rabbits and hermitcrabs, while pens are for larger creatures like foxes and cranes.

Place them in areas that can be conveniently reached and often visited, like your room or camp, for maximum material farming efficiency!

Place Creatures Inside to Harvest Materials

From time to time, hunters will be able to harvest materials from captured creatures. The materials acquired this way will vary depending on which creature is placed inside the cage or pen.

How to Unlock the Wildlife Cage and Pen Karakuri

Defeat the Pearlbeak to Unlock the Wildlife Pen

The Wildlife Pen Karakuri is unlocked after defeating a Pearlbeak during Chapter 3 of the game's story.

Purchase the Wildlife Cage Using Kemono Orbs

Wild Hearts - Wildlife Cage Karakuri

The Wildlife Cage node is found just below the Stake Karakuri node in the Karakuri menu.

The Wildlife Cage Karakuri can be purchased for 1,000 Kemono Orbs once you unlock the Karakuri Menu and unlock one of the adjacent Karakuri nodes. Keep in mind though that reaching the Wildlife Cage via purchases at early points in the game can be very costly.

Instead, we recommend waiting for the point in the story where you face-off against a Fumebeak, as this will unlock the Stake Karakuri. By starting from the Stake Karakuri's node, the total amount of Kemono Orbs Hunters will need to spend for the Wildlife Cage is only 2,000.
