Strategy
The icetusk will freeze the ground around it over a wide area, reacting with force to any incursion of its territory. Be especially wary of it charging over frozen ground. Don't let its sudden attacks catch you off guard, either—it can use breath attacks or powerful stomps to rock the ground and conjure lumps of ice out of thin air.

How to Beat Icetusk

Icetusk Tips and Strategies

Avoid Using Water Attribute Weapons

Wild Hearts - Avoid Using Water Attribute Weapons
The Water attribute and Frozen ailment aren't effective against the Icetusk, so we recommend avoiding using weapons with these effects. If your primary weapon currently holds Water or Frozen attributes, consider rolling it back and upgrading to a node with Fire or no elemental attributes.

Aim for the Icetusk's Head

Wild Hearts - Aim for the Icetusk
The Icetusk's weakest part is its head, so prioritize dealing damage to this area as often as possible, especially after knocking it down. However, if it's too unsafe to stay near its head, you can deal safer and more consistent damage by targeting its tail and hind legs.

Stay Patient During the Fight

Wild Hearts - Stay Patient During the Fight (Icetusk)
Like the Kingtusk, the Icetusk is a slow and large target. However, it features new and modified attack patterns compared to its weaker counterpart. Avoid overcommitting with your attacks, and prioritize counterattacking during the Icetusk's openings to ensure a smoother hunt.

Utilize Bulwark and Spring Karakuri

Wild Hearts - Utilize Bulwark and Spring Karakuri
We recommend using the Spring and Bulwark Karakuri heavily while hunting the Icetusk. You can use the Spring Karakuri to quickly reposition away from its wide-reaching attacks, while the Bulwark Karakuri is excellent for stopping its Relentless Charge attack.
