Borderlands 4 Overview
Borderlands 4 is the upcoming entry in Gearbox Software’s acclaimed looter-shooter series. Scheduled for release in 2025, it takes place shortly after the conclusion of Borderlands 3. Early teasers hint at a new planetary setting beyond Pandora, the world all three Borderlands games and even Tales of the Borderlands takes place in, with the potential for expanded lore involving the Great Vault and the Firehawks.
Borderlands 4 aims to enhance the franchise's signature looter-shooter gameplay. Players will take on the role of a Vault Hunter, battling waves of enemies while searching for valuable loot and treasures. More details, including gameplay showcases, are scheduled to be unveiled at The Game Awards 2024.

While the teaser trailer didn't offer much in terms of gameplay, it's clear from the game's Steam page that Gearbox is staying true to the series' signature looter-shooter style: "See if you have what it takes to go down in history as a legendary Vault Hunter as you search for secret alien treasure, blasting everything in sight."
