To use Karakuri, simply hold the Conjure button before selecting the different Karakuri mapped to your construction wheel. A white outline will display while holding down the Conjure button, showing you where you are about to construct your Karakuri.
Certain types of Karakuri cannot be unlocked by using Kemono Orbs. Instead, they can only be acquired by progressing through the game. Once you have more of these different Karakuri types, you will be able to map them into the Karakuri wheel for quicker use during combat.

To disassemble your Karakuri, go into the Disassembly Stance. Use the red outline to align your stance with the Karakuri you want to disaassemble before hitting H (PC) or L3 (controller) to dismantle the Karakuri.
Note: You can make more precise disassemblies by increasing or decreasing the size of the red outline while in the Disassembly Stance.
Dismantling a constructed Karakuri will not refund the Karakuri Threads used to make it. Disassembly simply removes the Karakuri from the world as you continue to explore it.
To use most of the combat Karakuri in the game, simply move towards them while exploring or during combat. Karakuri like the Box and Spring Karakuri will allow you to jump up or forward based on the direction your were facing while moving towards them.
Dragon Karakuri can be used by simply pressing the Interact button once you're next to them. Other Dragon Karakuri, like the Forge, will allow you to talk to NPCs and purchase equipment from the camp.

Before you can construct and use more Dragon Karakuri, you will first need to find and unblock the different Dragon Pits you find in the region. This is done in order to secure more building materials for Dragon Karakuri. To find a Dragon Pit, open your Map and look for any grayed-out Flame Symbols - these mark Dragon Pits you can discover and unblock.
PC | RMB (Hold) + Mouse Wheel Down |

Controller | (Hold) + (Hold) + |
Just like regular Karakuri, Dragon Karakuri can be accessed by holding down the Conjure Button. Once in the construction stance, simply navigate to the Dragon Karakuri menu and select a Dragon Karakuri to construct. Position it within the area of the Dragon Pit to assemble the structure.
Note: Constructing Dragon Karakuri will consume the alloted materials shown on the right side of your screen. Each Dragon Karakuri will use a different type of material, so pay attention to what each Dragon Karakuri needs to see if you can still build them.
While exploring, do note that Dragon Karakuri can be built anywhere on the map. The only real limit is your resource cap which can be found at the right side of the screen with the Dragon Karakuri menu open.
In order to construct more Dragon Karakuri on the map, you will need to expand your region's Dragon Pits. Spend materials that you collect while exploring the world at the different Dragon Pits to expand the alloted resources for each region of the world map.
