Wild Rose Overview and Location

Tall Tale Can be Found in Sanctuary Outpost (F-7)

The Wild Rose Tall Tale book can be found and started beside Madame Olive in Sanctuary Outpost (F-7). Head to the Order of Souls tent to find both her and the Tall Tale book.

Note: This Tall Tale can also be started from your ship's quest table. However, you will still need to go to Sanctuary Outpost and speak to Madame Olive in order to unlock the Tall Tale book.

Find the Chest of Memories

Above is the location of the Chest of Memories in Boulder Cay. The location varies per playthrough.

Your first task after speaking to Madame Olive in Sanctuary Outpost (F-7) is to locate George and Rose's Chest of Memories. The chest location will vary per playthrough, but it can be easily spotted by looking through the pages of the Tall Tale book.

Once you find the location clue, head to the island and dig up the Chest of Memories. Bring it back to your ship and open it up to collect the next set of pages for the Tall Tale book.

How to Find the Chest of Memories

To find the clue leading to the Chest of Memories, browse through the Tall Tale book and look for the page that has a drawing of a chest with hearts. You can identify the island and the dig spot by reading the page entry.

Find George's Box of Spices and Rose's Music Box

The new set of pages will have you revisit locations where George and Rose had their fondest memories. You will need to retrieve George's Box of Spices and Rose's Music Box based on the clues shown by the new pages.

Note: The memories you get and the locations for both the Box of Spices and Music Box will be random. In order to decipher the new pages, make sure to re-read the old entries of Rose and George.

The Pig Chase - Box of Spices in Salty Sands

The Pig Chase clue will take you to Salty Sands (top right of grid G-4). The Box of Spices will be on the northern island of Salty Sands, just after you cross the sandbar connecting the two small islands.

Our First Bounty - Music Box in Lone Cove

The Our First Bounty clue will take you to Lone Cove (H-6). Dock at the small port on the North East side of Lone Cove to make this treasure hunt easier.

As soon as you climb the ladder leading to the island, head South West in a straight line. You'll eventually reach a lone tree by the sea where the Music Box will be buried underneath it.

Bring the Box of Spices and Music Box Back to Madame Olive

Once you have both the Box of Spices and the Music Box, return to Madame Olive in Sanctuary Outpost (F-7). Deliver both items to her in order to get the Enchanted Compass.

Use the Enchanted Compass to Find Rose

Next, return to your ship and use the Enchanted Compass to find Rose. This is as simple as heading towards the direction that the compass is pointing to. While sailing, pay attention to the direction of the compass' needle to find the island where Rose's skeleton resides.

Upon finding her skeleton, pick up Rose's Note and Rose's Pendant. The latter will reward you with the Rose's Fate commendation and the note will grant you a checkpoint for this point of the Tall Tale.

Find George and Defeat Captain Rooke

After finding Rose, return to your ship and use the Enchanted Compass again to find the whereabouts of George. Use the compass to show you the island where George's half of the pendant can be found.

However, upon arriving at the island, you will encounter Captain Rooke instead of George's remains. Defeat her to get George's Pendant and the George's Fate commendation.

Return the Pendants to Madame Olive

With both halves of the pendant secure, return to Madame Olive in Sanctuary Outpost (F-7). Give her the pendants to complete the Wild Rose Tall Tale and receive the Pat of the Lovers commendation.

All Wild Rose Journal Locations

I Want to Fight

To start, head to Rapier Cay (D-8) to find the I Want to Fight journal. You can find it on the main islet, the one with the most vegetation, in front of some barrels.

I Think I Love Her 

Next, go to Lone Cove (H-6) and head towards the middle of the island to find a big pointed rock. East of this rock will be the I Think I Love Her journal.

He'll Get Himself Killed!

Next, head to Cannon Cove (G-10) and look for the campsite on the north side of the huge arc. You can find the He'll Get Himself Killed! journal here, just sitting around the campfire.

A Kiss and a Miss

Go to the Lagoon of Whispers (D-15) and head to the north east islets. The A Kiss and a Miss journal will be on top of the barrel next to the glowing bottles.

He Proposed!

Finally, the last journal He Proposed! is located in the North East islets of Sailor's Bounty (C-4). Head to the islet in the middle to find the journal in front of some barrels.

Note that there are two journals here, the He Proposed! and a Mysterious Journal. To complete the Wild Rose Journals, make sure to read the one on the right.
