Use the Brig to lock up a fellow pirate and prevent them from interacting with the rest of the crew and the ship for the rest of the game in Sea of Thieves. Learn how to kick players from the party and use the Brig to lock players away.
List of Contents
As of writing, there are currently no known methods to fully kick a player out of your party, given that it's not a feature implemented in the game. The only way to remove them is to start a fresh new game. You can do this by leaving the game and starting a new session from the Play Menu.
If you don't want to start a new session, you can send the player to the Brig. The Brig is a tiny prison cell located under the ship where you can lock players and prevent them from taking any actions. This is a great way to prevent any pirates from causing harm, especially if you encounter trolls in an Open Crew session.
To use the Brig, access the voting option under the My Crew menu. Locate the player you want to jail on the left and vote Yes. This follows a majority rules system, so make sure everyone votes with you to temporarily ban the unruly player you're targeting.
In case you change your mind, you can also free the locked player every five minutes. This also utilizes the voting system, so simply change your vote to No if you want to free them.
The Sloop is the only ship that does not feature a prison cell as its Brig. Instead, players who are voted to be in the Brig will be sent to the bed under the ship.
