List of Contents
There are seven trading companies in Sea of Thieves that offer a variety of in-game quests and activities:
The Gold Hoarders are a company obsessed with gold and want nothing but booty. Gold Hoarders will offer Voyages that have you searching for hidden treasure across the seas. Dig up buried chests, solve riddles, and loot treasure vaults filled with riches by taking on voyages for this trading company! |
The Order of Souls are a mysterious group that vanquishes skeletons and performs mystic rituals using their skulls. Embarking on Voyages for the Order of Souls means hunting down and obtaining the bounty skulls of vicious skeletons and engaging in naval warfare with ghost ships. |
The Merchant Alliance are a company of reliable vendors who primarily deal in the safe transport of cargo. Merchant Alliance contracts will have you capturing and transporting animals, delivering cargo, and finding lost and sunken shipments. However, unlike the previous trading company voyages, these ones will have a delivery deadline. |
A company that thrives out in the wild, the Hunter's Call spend their days fishing and hunting game. The Hunter's Call does not give out Voyages. Instead, you must go out on your own time, catching fish or hunting down creatures for animal meat and beast meat. Cook these food items perfectly and hand them over to a Hunter's Call representative at any Seapost to build your Reputation with this trading company. |
Led by Captain Flameheart, the Reaper's Bones are a company of true pirates who kill and steal without remorse. With the Reaper's Bones, you can become an Emissary to hunt down and sink ships from other trading companies, steal their treasures, and sell them at The Reaper's Hideout for Gold and Reputation. Earning Reputation for this company can only be done in High Seas. |
Athena's Fortune are a renowned company founded by the famed Pirate Lord and is made up entirely of players who have become Pirate Legends. You can join Athena's Fortune and become a Pirate Legend after you've obtained Rank 50 Titles in three different trading companies. Legendary Voyages will send you on perilous quests in search of the valuable treasure unique to Athena's Fortune. Earning Reputation for this company can only be done in High Seas. |
The Bilge Rats stand in stark contrast to the other trading companies. They are a free and independent group, and they adventure and roam as they please. Speak to Larinna outside the taverns to access the Bilge Rat shop, purchase unique items, and obtain special time-limited Bilge Rat Voyages. Achieve various Commendations to earn Doubloons, which you can use to purchase items from Larinna. |
In order to begin working for Trading Companies like the Gold Hoarders, the Order of Souls, and the Merchant Alliance, you must first complete the requisite tutorial found in the Voyages tab of the Quest Table in your ship.
The Hunter's Call company has no tutorial so you can immediately earn Reputation by catching fish, cooking it in your ship, and bringing it to a representative at any Seaport.
You don't need to join a trading company in order to gain rewards from them. You can earn Reputation and Promotions simply by completing their Voyages in the Quest Table of your ship.
For companies like the Hunter's Call and the Reaper's Bones, which do not have Voyages, you can still earn Reputation from them.
How to Raise Trading Company Reputation
You can purchase a trading company's Emissary License to become an representative for that company. Completing Voyages while flying a certain company's flag will advance your Emissary Grade, thus earning you highly increased rewards.
Trading Companies are factions that provide you with different activities and quests to complete in exchange for Gold and Reputation, which in turn grants you Promotions and access to new items like equipment cosmetics and ship parts.
